Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Caitlin flew into the darkening sky, her heart sinking as her body rose higher over central square. The dead were crowding the ground below, and it was harder and harder to see where the living were hiding and whether or not they were in need of rescue. All of this, and they still had to find the one responsible among the muckery. How? Something from the corner of her eye flew past large - and fast and she veered before she had time to register what it was. "Eye's Up!" She hissed to her companions. Stupid! Stupid she should have realized that the dead could fly too.
Caitlin swiveled once more to set herself up for a landing on the clocktower. She needed to reassess their surroundings in a more 3D space. the enemy wasn't just on the ground. But this was something her mind could work through quickly. This, in a sense, was familiar territory to a sky pirate.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
"Oho~" the figure exclaimed. "It seems as though I've been found out~" he cackled to himself, a grin appearing on his face.
"It's been a while since I've personally had fun-" he stated to mutter to himself, prepared to make a grand entrance when he stopped.
"What? No no no. I was just about to-" he started to seemingly mutter to himself, perturbed at something.
"Fine," he scowled, unfurling a pair of wings before opening and stepping through a Gate
---
Moments later, the figure emerged from the other side of the Gate, floating above the clock tower.
"Attention citizens of Lodan!" a voice seemingly boomed throughout the city, though upon careful consideration, one would realized that the voice was speaking directly into their mind. "I regret to inform you that I must cut our fun here short. Enjoy the remaining time that you have with you loved ones. To my Andersweltler brethren, I hope that this is a reminder to you of the power that you can possess! To the humans and half-breed filth, let this be a reminder of who your masters truly are."
"And to the sympathizers who try to stop me," he began, directing this message to Caitlin Cockfoster, Edelweiss Fjäril, and Elaine Anncroft. "I do hope to add you to my collection one day," he said, spreading his arms out to reveal his bare, tattooed arms.
Suddenly, two more pairs of wings appeared on his back; at the same time, the tattoos on his arms shifted, and he seemingly grew two new pairs of arms. A Gate opened above him, the other side providing an unnatural illumination to the figure, allowing those that were close to him could see that the none of his wings nor arms matched, a deliberate message of the fate of those who oppose him.
With a final "Bye~" the twisted seraph ascended into the Gate, whereupon the zombies in the city rapidly grew weaker.
Eventually, starting with the zombies that were summoned first, they began to collapse and fade into dust, as the final vestiges of magic left their bodies not too long after, filling the air with the final cries from both the unwilling and the damned.
Then, there was silence, leaving not a trace of their existence, save for the destruction and broken hearts for the living to clean up.
