Setting: before the Festival of Hearts
He heard there was a theater district in town but he did not think it to be this extravagant. His father's description of the place did not do it justice: the man had sead there was a casino, a gentleman's club- which he went into great detail about- and a rather fancy theater building. Yet his father had failed to mention the vast amount of street performers, vendors, and works of art that hung from almost every window. Music bounced around the side walks, dancers twirled to their own unsung rhythm, and performers showed off their skills to anyone that would stop to watch. Workers were scurrying about as they hung up heart shaped decorations of red and white for what he guessed to be for the festival he read about in the paper. The busy, extravagant feel of the place fit perfectly for him, which was odd given his tastes. He felt... at home. It was a nice feeling and he wondered if he often visited this wonder of a place in the past.
Glancing up at what he guessed to be the Royal Palace, he double checked his location by studying the small hand drawn map that Mar... Marie? Margret?... Miss M, whom was apparently his maid.. Anyways, she had handed him this map before he stepped outside. Honestly, he had memory loss, not a total lack of direction. Still, he appreciated her care and help. Folding the map up neatly, he slid it into the pocket of his vest as he made his way over to the Theater, smiling at a flyer plastered on the wall next to him which depicted a group of fairies and a man sporting a donkey's head. One of his favorite plays was showing during the Festival of Hearts so he thought he would buy the tickets early to beat the crowd on the day of.
Stepping inside, he looked around the most empty entrance for anyone he could chat with. His eyes landed on someone walking confidently towards the stage area, no doubt a worker or actor here. "Excuse me, I was wondering where I could go to purchase tickets for the 'Midsummer Nights Dream' play that this theater will be hosting?"
