Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to all MI. Lillian Rainfield, this is for you~ Lasair paced around the hall, disappointed in himself for allowing things to become so…delayed. He had meant to start Lillian’s trial sooner; when the problem had first presented itself. But time had escaped him and the issue was fast growing dust. It was not too late to address it however, at least he hoped not.
He had sent a messenger bird to her, a simple message attached to its leg. “Come home when you can. The challenge is set to begin.” She should understand it well enough. And it wasn’t written in a way to sound urgent, yet Lasair found himself anxious all the same. Once Lillian arrived, he could sit and explain to her what would be happening. But until then… He walked up and down the entry hall again.

Lillian received the note, and smiled down at Frederick. "Shall we?" she asked, opening the door. The white cat meowed and slipped out of the doorway, turning and waiting for Lillian to lead the way. She grabbed a black cloak from the peg next to the door, slung it over her shoulders, and locked the door behind her. She smiled, the cold air biting at the skin on her face. "C'mon now." It was snowing, and her cloak soon became dotted with snowflakes, making it look more like she was wrapped in a night sky than simple cloth. Frederick was nearly hard to spot in the white. Eventually, she picked him up to carry him, lest his paws got too cold.
They finally arrived at the building, taking the necessary steps to find it again. She entered, brushing the snow off her cloak with her sea green mittens while still near the door, on the mat, so she wouldn't get snow all over the floor. She smiled at Lasair, greeting him. "Hello. How are you doing? What's the challenge?" She may have sounded eager, but that was okay. A question would mean she could listen silently, which was, of course, her preference usually. He looked anxious. "Is everything alright?"

It was time for another trial, and the twins were ready for some action. The two knew a bit about what was going on, mainly who the trial was for, but other than that they were a bit in the dark. They were fine with that for now, knowing that Lasair would give a run down of what needed to happen during the trial, still though it is always nice to know what's going on. With masks in hands the twins made their way to where Lasair wanted everyone to meet up, and it seemed like they made it just in time seeing as how Lillian was just walking up as they were. The two stood off to the side some as Lillian asked her questions, after all they didn't want to be rude and stand in the way while everyone was talking.
"Good to see you both." Emelo said with a light smile once Lillian was done speaking.
Leo just nodded some as he stood next to his brother.

“Welcome, both of you,” Lasair said with a light smile as he stopped his pacing. “I’m doing quite fine, as is everything else. I merely feel the need to apologize for the delay in having this begin. But that’s besides the point now.”
Clearing his throat, he reached out to pick up his mask, turning to look at Lillian with a raised eyebrow. “You actually won’t be needing your mask tonight, now that I think of it. You might want to bring it along though. You might end up needing it.” He still pulled the cloak of his around his shoulders. “We’ll be needing ours, however,” he said to the twins.
“Your task is a bit more dynamic than usual. I do hope you’re up for it.” Turning, he looked at Lillian directly, a smile crawling up his lips. “It sounds rather simple however. You see, we will be robbing a bank tonight.”

"Oh, hello!" She said kindly, smiling genuinely at the two men who had entered the room around the same time as her.
She nodded when Lasair mentioned the mask, and remembered it was conveniently in her pocket. It wasn't anything fancy, but worked well enough for her. It was a simple mask, that would cover her whole face, made out of a mirror. It had mesh over the eye-holes, that she could look out of, but nobody could see through from the outside (her eyes may give her away), and there was a long wig attached, black hair so it would cover the long forest green hair Lillian grew naturally.
Then she heard Lasair's announcement.
Lillian stilled, all thoughts of her mask dropping away, and looked between the three people standing in the room with her. "What?"

The two froze a bit when Lasair said what would bee happening tonight. Though both of their reactions to hearing this were different they both were thinking the same thing. Why?
Leo smiled a bit as he shoved his hands into his pockets. He was excited for this trial, and was interested to see how it would go.
Emelo on the other hand was not as excited as his brother was. After all Leo was a bit more daring, and out there with things like this than Emelo was. Stepping forward some Emelo nodded to what Lillian said. "Ya, what? Why are we going to rob someone?"
Leo stepped next to Emelo and wrapped an arm around him, "Come on E, relax, this will be fun. Lasair obviously has a reason for doing this so no need to question it." He said with a smile.

“It’s alright to ask,” Lasair began with a light laugh, amused at their reactions. “I suppose I should amend my words and explain that it’s not exactly a bank, but rather a vault. You see, there’s a family that’s been fattening their wallets at the expense of anders. They coax young anders to come into their shop, offering money in exchange for some “help” as they put it. It sounds innocent enough, which is what causes anders to bite at the offer. But once within the doors…terrible things happen. For wingeds, they talk them into releasing their wings and then explain that they will be put asleep for a short time to, quote, trim their wings. Once out, they pluck a majority of their feathers and repurpose them into elaborate hats to sell to upper classmen. The process is extremely painful once they wake up and often times the feathers don’t grow back properly. It’s not worth the menial sum of money paid for it.”
He took a breath, rubbing the back of his head. “As for felines and velvets; it’s not as but still not good. As you know, anders often have unusual hair. They will shave a good portion of it off to make into wigs. I’ve heard that they might draw blood from generals too, but reports of that are still mostly veiled in mystery so I can’t be sure.”
“The work is expensive and they currently have a large loan taken out to pay for a bigger shop closer to the slums. They keep a stockpile of their money somewhere in the back of their shop, locked up tight. If we clear that out, there’s no way they’ll be able to make payment on their loan. On top of that, if we swipe their tools and sleeping liquid, there’s no way they’ll be able to keep up the trade, and thus go bankrupt.”
Pausing again, he let the weight of this sink in gave them time to process it before speaking up once more. “Lillian, the plan is rather simple. I’d like you to go in and pretend to be an ander interested in the money they offer. Keep them busy. Ask a lot of questions. Be loud. Knock things over. Incontinence them; do whatever you want just keep them focused on you and don’t let them put a cloth near your face. Twins, you’ll be with me. We’re going to make our way to the backroom and clean it out.”

Lillian's face wore an expression of horror when she heard of the things that these store owners were doing to anders. She pictured her own long, silky, straight forest green hair being cut off. Truthfully, the thought upset her. It had taken years to grow her hair that long, and she'd be lying if she said she didn't like its length at least a little bit. Nervousness bit her when she was told of the plans, but she took a deep breath and her face grew grave.
She had already instilled in herself a sense of loyalty towards the guild, and her loyalty ran deeper than the fear she felt. If she failed, then she felt she deserved any of the horrific outcomes. She imagined how it might work out quickly, the various possible scenes vaguely playing out in her head in a matter of seconds, helping her acquire a rough plan on what she'd say and how she might prevent a cloth from coming near her face. She knew she was agile, and able to easily dodge things, but if someone rushed at her and somehow they actually caught her, would she be strong enough to stop them from clamping a chloroform-soaked cloth over her nose? She wasn't so sure. She shrugged it off. There was a job to do, and she was going to do it, so there was no point worrying excessively. Only enough to stay cautious.
Then she nodded, smiled, and spoke. "Alrighty then. When do we leave?"

The two frowned a bit at what Lasair said, how people could do that to anders was horrid, but sadly it was something that happened. But if they could help stop it in some way then they would. Though the thoughts of what those winged anders must have felt made the hair on the back of their necks stand on end. The two nodded to what Lasair said, the were ready to go in and clean out everything the could, though one question did come time each of their minds.
"Do we know how many people will be there?" Emelo asked, ready to go but wanting to be a little more prepared on what they will be walking into.
Leo nodded some, he was ready to get out there and stop this. Though rather than ask his question he decided to wait, after all it was a question that would happen only if things went really wrong.

Lasair shook his head. “I know there’s at least four in the family, but sometimes they have other relatives, girlfriends, ect visiting. As far as I know, they’re all in on the plot, but it’s hard to be sure. The children might be innocent, possibly. They might jokingly make fun of anders too, though.” He scratched the back of his head, a little disappointed in himself for not being able to get clear information about that. But that’s how the rumors went sometimes. “We will be leaving as soon as you’re all ready,” he replied to Lillian then.

Lillian nodded. She was ready to go. Four people, maybe more. She ran her fingers down her hair, shivering. "I'm ready." She looked to the twins to see if they were also ready. She should be asking questions too, she knew, but she didn't. She looked down at her white cat, who sat prettily on the floor. Should she leave Frederick here? He'd be upset, but if something happened (the future is never certain, after all), she didn't know what they would do with him. She picked him up and set him on a nearby chair. "Could he stay here in the meantime?" He meowed. "Some other time, not this time, Frederick," she spoke to him soothingly. She hoped he wouldn't get out and follow them.

Emelo let out a slight sigh as he got his answer, not the one he was hoping for but at least that was better than nothing.
The two nodded in sync, ready to head out and get this thing going. Leo was ready and excited for this, while Emelo would have liked to stay back, but something like this requires a few extra heads. The twins then placed their masks on their heads, almost like hats, and just left them there rather than pulling them down. Leos was slightly off centered to the right, while Emelo's sat smack-dap in the middle.
Leo crossed his arms over his chest as he smirked a bit, "Shall we get going then?" He asked.

Looking towards the cat, Lasair nodded. “If he will stay put, then so be it.” He then turned to the twins and nodded, ready to head out of into the city now. At first they walked as a group, but as they neared the less-than-ideal part of the district, Lasair directed Lillian forward and then diverted with the twins.
Further up the street, Lillian would find a very sweet looking aged lady (not quite old and wrinkly, but definitely a woman that’s raised a few kids in her time) standing near the edge of the street and calling out to people. “Part time work! Non-discriminatory! Help us out for a few hours and we’ll pay ya for the time!” She reached out towards a few individuals as they passed (all of which had uncommon hair colors), but all of them shook their head and ran off. She continued to call out though, not a shred of malice present in her eyes.
Meanwhile, Lasair led the twins through a few alleys so that they could come up around to the back end of the store. In specific it was a very VERY narrow alleyway that was between the backs of the target shop and the shop built directly behind it. It was here that Lasair reached into his bag and pulled out his fox cloak, tying it around his shoulders. “There’s a window at the second floor, probably built to get light shining in from over the other building. Can one of you climb up and open it?” It was simple question directed at them because of the claws present on their hands and feet. If they declined, Lasair would manage his own way up. But it would be easier with their assistance.

The two followed as the group made their way back and behind the shop, once there they stopped and began to look around some. The two nodded to Lasair as he asked his question before they both turned to the wall some to look up to the window.
"Care to do the honors?" Emelo asked with a slight smirk as he gestured to the wall some. Emelo would have done it but he wasn't as good a climber as his brother, besides it seemed as though Leo enjoyed climbing more than he did.
"Oh how nice of you." Leo said as he bent down to unlace his shoes, after all he would need a little extra grip to get up that high. In a few quick and fluid motions Leo was up next to the window in no time. He quickly peeked in the window to see if anyone was around, and from the looks of it not one was, and with that he then gave the window a quick push and pull to open it, but to his surprise it seemed to be locked. After thinking it over a second he realized why it was lock, and how it made sense. With a sigh, Leo made his way back down to the group. "It's locked." He said bluntly as he looked back up to the window. "I can open it i just need to know how you want me to do so." He added before turning back around, "I can either bust it open, or if you can get me some kind of pin like object I can pick the lock and open it that way."
Because two heads are better than one.
