Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
"Ehhhh..." Amon grimaced a little. "It's bad, yeah, but not as bad as it should be; I had set aside a portion of the guild's funds in case of a rainy day, so we're still doing okay. That being said, we're still struggling, and it didn't help that some bastards decided that they wanted a piece of that rainy-day-pie, thus exacerbating the problem."
"But we'll survive; necessity is the mother of invention after all,"Amon concluded with a shrug.
"...Speaking of...what are those...if you don't mind me asking?" he asked, nodding to the wristbands Medivha put on.
"I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible! And when I leave, you will finally understand why storms are named after people!" - Taryn, Nerf This
The brunette paused before nodding, understanding completely. In fact, the stealings at the beginning of the war were the beginning of her own problems, the masked irritations making her a prime suspect even though she had been wearing that beloved mask since her childhood. She couldn't help but wonder if it were the same people continuing the theft, the very thought making her frown. Oh she knew who they were if that was the case, and she'd have half a mind to snitch on them but... the thought did sit very well in her stomach. After all, despite all her grievances with their actions how and frigging dumb she thought they were, they were still the ones to give her shelter at one of her weakest moments.
"If necessity is the mother of invention, then creativity must be the father, or perhaps that crazy uncle that everyone loves. Bare in mind that many inventions we have today were not born of necessity, but rather just because we could." she hummed, thinking of a certain eccentric father of hers. "As someone dear to me once said, the box is your enemy just as much as it is your friend. Do not let the now blind you from what could be."
Ha, She was one to talk. Vieka felt like the biggest hypocrite saying that, but it wasn't like she didn't understand what her old man had been saying. She for one was particularly bad of letting the now distract her from the future, focusing only on the doom and gloom weighing on her shoulders. It was a bad habit she really needed to break, but sometimes it was harder said than done. Hopefully the inventor at her side did not have the same troubles weighing his consciousness. Eh, she was probably reading far too much into his simple statement anyway, another bad habit to try and kick. Remind her to add it to the list.
Glancing down at the bands on her wrists, the cadet cleared her throat and adjusted them, twitching slightly as the train jarred to life. "They are pressure point bands..." She explained slowly, not sure how comfortable she felt admitted the weakness behind them. "They.... stop me from getting travel sick..." She muttered at the end, glaring out the window to hide the small shade of pink threatening to colour her cheeks.

Amon merely nodded in agreement to Medivha's words. "Wise words to live by..." he merely stated.
As for the motion sickness...
"...Huh...how convenient..." he said, nodding to the wristbands. "Might consider looking into those myself for...reasons." Such as using them as a means to help him withstand the g-forces whenever he attempted to fly at his parents' ranch, but there really was no need to tell the truth.
They all had secrets after all...

Vieka shot the man a slightly accusing look. Typical, she reveals something of her own weakness and the man says it could be useful for 'reasons'. Talk about incriminating yourself and making it obvious that you were up to something.
"A word of advice Amon. If you do not want to bring yourself under suspicion, or better yet keep your secrets as secret, don't make it obvious by saying 'reasons'." She stated drily, turning her attention back to the window. "It is better to just simply leave it at 'how convenient' and not even bother mentioning your interest in the matter. People do not wonder if you do not put the idea in their head i find." and she would know this fact well. After all, there were very few people who knew she was an Ander for this very reason: she never put the idea into their head.

"You're no fun..." he replied, looking the other way. "Besides, not really much of a secret: already built the giant robot, who's to say I'm not gonna add improvements to them and I'd like to make sure I don't get too sick during the testing phases..."
Yeesh...hadn't seen someone this brash since Vieka left the guild...
"...We almost there...?" he asked. Where was she keeping this thing? In a vault somewhere?

The cadet paused, her mouth opening before closing again into a firm line. Ah, she did that thing again where she took everything literally at face value. She kinda sucked at reading between the lines at the best of times, but she pinned on the fact that she really didn’t know amon that well. Sure, technically he had been her landlord and a sort of manager for her business for quite a while when she had first moved to Lodan some two years back, but she could count the amount of proper interactions she’d had with the male on one hand. That… wasn’t saying a lot considering this was Vieka we were talking about though. She just wasn’t a social creature by nature, and Amon didn’t strike her as the type either.
Looking outside to the passing scenery, the brunette let out a small sigh. “About another ten minutes or so. We’re having to move from central Lodan to the EIRaL headquarters on the outskirts, it’s not a quick trip.” She stated idly. She would have thought the mechanic to be more patient considering his occupation, but she’d admit to not being the best company. He probably just wanted this over and done with.
