Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Emily was a bit surprised by the question, it made her pause a split second and cast him a glance. Afterwards she smiled brightly. "My village is small, not the largest of the tribes by any means. But not to brag, we were the smartest." She chuckled. "It sat right above the waves, the entire thing. The Chieftain's home sitting in the middle of the rest. Our village had docks for walkways. Like those at the port just a bit smaller to fit between the houses. Almost like a floating town." She was refraining from using the usual names for items in her tribe. Substituting the English versions. It made it easier to understand, and made her sound well educated. Being well educated was something that actually got you things in his world, the world of Lodan. "I also lived only forty paces from the forest, where we would hunt, and do many other things for the good of our families. It was a nice contrast to hear the rusting leaves in the trees than the splashing and pounding of the ocean against the posts under the village. Most of the time the only time anyone ever went out beyond our territory was to ask for help from another tribe or trade things. Unless you were me, I was told I only left to go find trouble." She grinned as the memory surfaced. She'd lost count of how many times she'd gotten in trouble for her endeavors. But she had a lot to show for the 'trouble' she'd gone through.
The description of her village sounded quaint. Not the kind of place Edger could see himself living in, but it suited her to a degree. And she spoke of it lovingly, so that too was nice for he got to see her smile as she recounted the memory.
“Why did you decide to leave it?” he asked then with an eyebrow raised. “It certainly sounds like you loved it there. Have you thought of returning?” He was a bit curious about the answer, but more than that he just wanted her to continue talking. Her voice was rather nice, especially when complimented with the wind.

She made a soft sighing noise, an uncertain grin lighting her features. Her eyes looked across the street before coming back to him. "I didn't exactly choose to leave in the sense. I always wanted to explore beyond the islands such. Only with the thought of returning. Which I can no longer do." She explained vaguely. Not overly enthusiastic of her exile. It wasn't a sensitive subject but it wasn't a happy one. To keep Edgar from having to ask questions she'd be blunt, "I was exiled for my adventurousness because I was seen as a she-devil for wanting to do more than live my entire existence in the village." She grew a little quiet then, allowing Edgar the time he needed to process the spurned information.

He stayed quiet for the moment, taken the given time to think things over. Unfortunately, before he had a chance to really build a reply to her, they arrived at the fish stall. Edgar breathed a bit heavily and looked over the various fish displayed there. Glancing at his companion for a moment, he decided on a medium-sized fish and pointed at it. “That one please,” he said to the owner. It would give him more time to think over what she had just confessed to him after all.

Emily just crossed an arm around her and then rested the other on top of it. Her hand lightly holding the bottom of her chin as she watched. The seller nodded with a bright smile and then carefully wrapped the Tuna as he had asked for. Tying it closed in the package and handing it to Edgar, holding a hand out for the coins in return. "Pleasure doing business sir." The man said kindly. Emily smiled sweetly at Edgar. "I believe that will suffice for a good meal." She told the feline, shifting her weight. Unsure as to what he was thinking about her origins and her standing knack for trouble.

“What do you find on your adventures?” Edgar asked as he turned the fish into his basket, turning to walk away from the vendor now. His mind was turning with thoughts, all of them surrounding her, and he couldn’t help but wonder if he would have the chance to meet her again. Perhaps at a beach again. Or perhaps at any time where she’d be swimming.
