Today Edgar needed to go shopping. He hated shopping. It always meant having to spent money, which he also hated. But, there were things that were needed in the house. Such as food, some new candles, thread, and other various oddities that needed to be replaced from time to time. So he went out, buying what he needed and even made a stop back at home to empty his basket before heading out again. There were only a couple places left the stop at, the first one being the edge of the city. At the coast to be exact. Edgar had a taste for fish, and there was no better place to purchase it than the area that brought it into the city.
As he neared the area of fishermen he wrinkled his nose, the pungent smell hitting him hard. Uncooked the scaly things were disgusting; it was hard to believe someone had the thought to cook them into something edible. As he neared the vendors, someone bumped into him roughly, knocking him off his feet and to the ground. His coin purse slipped from his inner pocket, a handful of gold coins spilling out and rolling across the ground. Fumbling, Edgar stood up and claimed his purse, reaching out to try and retrieve the rest of the coins too. But moving feet made that difficult, if not impossible.
There were a pair of coins that rolled off into the sand. Those, Edgar could certainly catch. Following after the pair, one gold and one silver, he moved through the sand as quickly as he could, mentally cursing at the sand that was filling his shoes. But it seemed he didn’t move fast enough as the coins came to rest near someone, a girl by the looks of it. He stopped in his tracks, looking between the coins and whom they rested by. He didn’t dare say a word, instead he just waited to see what they would do. Claim the coins, or return them?
