How things have changed in just a few short weeks. Take that lone apple tree for instance, a couple of weeks back it was a gnarly tangle of dead-looking nude branches, but the growth started after the winter ended had left the previously naked branches dotted with flower buds. In the light of the morn they were an ethereal silvery blue that gave an illusion of late snow, and now in the late afternoon they greeted the view like timid little ghosts. Other than those buds, a certain woman's reddish colorscheme is the only contrast against the wood's brown hue tinged with the green shade of the Borderland's flora.
Edelweiss was taking her time sitting there, resting on the ground with her back supported by the rough trunk, while the younglings ahead trained their magic. This wasn't a scheduled day for magic lessons with MI, nor was this the exact place where the spell lessons Lasair usually helped with happened, although it was still somewhat close to it geographically - found by coincidence, another clearing in the forest that had a lake in its center. The redhead woman had taken a more restricted number of her guild younglings to train and test the control of their auras, along furthering her own research on the matter. Now, the small group of 5 was in the middle of what looked like an improvised dance with her singing voice as guide, wisps of glowing colors dandling at the tips of their fingers and occasionally randomly from their figures at every step and motion.
It was spring now. The first greening of the grass was a heralding of life, with that glimpse of brilliant green that soon grows to carpet the earth everywhere. Some blooms on the treelines were already out to announce springtime, but stubbornly the sky was cloudy and silver now. Edelweiss' little "garden place" is shaded - the apple tree only has a time-share of sunlight competing against the shadows of the taller forest trees around it. But she wasn't concerned, it would surely bloom and bear fruits anyway, just like the kids dancing ahead.
