Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
(open to CAEsAL , invite to Edelweiss Fjäril ) it was a dark day as it rained outside, the small white little girl looked out the window as she had been thinking , over all the things Eryn had done over the past year , and yet she felt she had done a lot that she felt she was stick, that she didn't fit in with the other informants and spies now after the events that she had to face, fight and kill people , she felt that she stood out having blood on her hands.
as she turned to walk to Edelweiss' office she felt eyes on her as the other informants watch her. she know she may have broken a number of rules when she tried to go alone to go after Elm by herself. and the times she had to defend herself. she could only hope she could talk to Mama Edelweiss Fjäril , as she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her and every one of her friends , Zona K. Noakes , Elaine Anncroft and even Papa Stephen Leland .
she also wanted to ask about something , something that moved her inside about Papa Amon , that she needed to know. as Eryn Reached the door of the office, she reached up and knocked... and hoped....

Edelweiss had to lift her head slightly beyond the (somehow neat-looking) stacks of paper over her desk to see better who was the little person making way into her office. Not that Eryn was actually short enough not not be seen, it was just the piles of paper that were far too big lately. She'd been progressing with some personal and interguild-related researches, which to speak honestly was quite interesting, but that along the extra documentation and lists for distributing materials and supplies where they should go that had been increasing progressively as the war progressed there was no end to the paperwork in sight. Whenever she wasn't outside doing the part of her job that required more physical exercise, or the few hours she could spare at home every couple days, this was all that awaited upon her return. Just paper, paper, and more paper.
The redhead sighed, taking a deep breath to unwind and turned her attention away from the countability books to focus on Eryn and see what she wanted. It had been longer since they last talked than should have been, that much was true, and there were things Edelweiss should talk to her as well.

Eryn opened the door as she poked her head in "Mama? are you there?" she asked before noticing the piles of papers and book on her desk that seemed to be very very important as she came into the office "a Are you b busy ? i if so i c could come b back l later? , Mama?" Eryn asked as she felt uneasy not knowing what Edelweiss knows and how she would react to everything but she know she had to be strong if she wanted to become like her friend and family , so she swallowed her uneasy waited for what her Mama would say. Eryn know she would be judged for her actions and only waited for Edelweiss response.

"Yes I'm here, behind the towers of paper." Edelweiss chuckled (mostly as a reflex) when Eryn asked if she was there, and waved for the young girl to spot her and know it's fine to get closer.
"I'm always busy nowadays, Eryn. But that doesn't mean you have to go away, nor that I can't take a few minutes to talk to you." And they sure needed to have a talk. The redhead moved to gently pat Eryn's head. "I have some things I should talk to you too, but you can be first. So, what did you come to see me for?"

Eryns nerves where going on her as she was beckoned closer, knowing the possibly of what could come as she remembered the whispers of the other informants, that rule brakes die. But as she came close though Edelweiss Patted her head , in the way that she always had done, Eryn felt safe again but still uneasy as she stuttered a little "y you know ..... that i Broke the rules ......when I tried to go after Elm alone ..... I t tried to use the believe that he though I was dead b but Zona, Elaine and Jasper followed me down ...... I wanted to go alone so n no one else would have gotten h hurt b but they followed ....." then tears started to run down Eryn face " I know I broke the rules .... I know Braking the rules ends up with death.... but I did it ... as it was a chance that I couldn't miss .... to kill Elm for the Bad things he had done to people ..... I didn't want the same things that Elm did to others to happen to everyone with black blood in lodan...... I..I stained my hands to kill a monster ...... and ready to face what comes next .... ".
Eryn stood there with her eyes closed with the tear flowing down , knowing that there would come next would be death "I followed what you and Zona and Papa Stephen would have done ..... I wanted to be an assassin ... to kill the monsters ... and now I have to pay the price...."

"I heard of it when it happened, Eryn. And it was a good thing they followed you. I think you already know this, but an assassin's job is to get rid of requested threats - and an informant's job is to select, realize and assist with information-gathering. As long as they were with you, I could file your code breaches as assisting them by investigating. You won't have to pay for anything." Edelweiss couldn't help but sigh. "It all was extremely dangerous though, even though both I and everyone else went to such lenghts to protect you. And even assassins can't go around killing everyone they deem evil without having any restrains or plans. You could have died, and you endangered your friends. Are you aware of it? You don't have the proper training to be an assassin, at least not yet - you don't even have the proper training of an informant, I know very well you had been skipping classes for the longest time. Can you really assure me you can hold the responsibility and discipline enough to learn how to become an assassin?"

Eryn keep her eyes closed as she tried to give her reason "E...Elm made the monsters who kill and captured everyone from unlodan , a..a.and he wanted to kill everyone who was was black blooded ... after what happen to Zona and myself as he played it out that night before when he showed his 'cure'....I just tried ... I just tried..I didn't want the same events repeating..." Eryn know she was going get the punishment regardless, she broke rules. "I .. I.. I can only try...I only wish to be like you Mama and like Zone and Papa Stephen and everyone else here.. " she could only wait as tears came down her face.

Elaine came into the Theater mind focused on fixing the armbands around her forearms. She had been working hard to memorize maps, as Edel had suggested, and she went to explore the ones she hadn't seen yet often. Finding new paths and junctions for quicker time to get from place to place. She often went out of her way recently to check the ones farther from her home, actually finding one that was leaning more towards a death run than a safe place to walk. She got across it either way. She wasn't paying a whole, unbelievable amount of attention when she came in. She knew the place like the back of her hand. As well as it was in between shows and not many people were bustling about.
Turning slightly she finally fixed her bands and headed straight downstairs as per usual. The only thing stopping her on her way down the steps was a soft, crying voice that she barely caught. Peeking in she saw only a large pile of papers. Was someone in here? Elaine tip-toed down the last few steps. All she needed was a job off the board, despite her temporary second-in-command duties, she still found it important to continue completing her job as an assassin. Maybe she wouldn't be noticed.

"What Elm did was grotesque and horrid enough even EIRAL would have to move anyway if we didn't first. While it's true the police forces of Lodan don't consider Anders to have civil rights for the most part and do their considerable share of atrocities behind people's backs, encaging and poisoning children on a public display would cause a public outcry from society demanding more rights for them. Which, being something EIRAL doesn't want to give us in itself, would force them to arrest Elm - or kill him on sight - to appease the people. Not to mention of the destruction of both public and private property his 'inventions' caused. That man set a sentence to himself the very moment he stepped into the city." Edelweiss rubbed the bridge of her own nose.
"You were hasty, Eryn. It's not impossible for me to understand why, but even if you wanted to do something about it yourself, you should have still trusted our guild and seeked help instead of going on your own. This was your main mistake." She sighed, but finally relented to the fact Eryn needed some soothing and crouched down to face her at eye-level instead of towering over the young girl and wipe her tears with a hand. "Your friends following your trail saved you - both from Elm, and from our rules. Don't try something like that again until you're truly ready - but other than that, there's no punishment I should apply on you. I'm not being sarcastic here. Just think with the bottom of your heart and answer me: can you hold responsibility and discipline enough to learn how to become an assassin?" Considering Eryn's current skills, it would require a lot of strict training and even more strict lessons, if she were to survive on the job. She'd have to learn how to make cold decisions, prioritize ruthlessly and not seek targets outside of the boards, besides getting not only combat but also literary skills - how would someone who can't read right take a target from the boards? And she would have to stop skipping lessons too, instead of only attending to the ones she felt like on a whim. Most informants were more advanced in that matter already.
Sigh. If Eryn had been at least a couple years older, the redhead wouldn't worry so much; she had her share of having to deal with slips from the younglings in the guild, even Elaine, but Elaine was mature enough to recognize her own mistakes and not repeat them. It was up to Eryn to do the same now, or not - her answer would decide it. And talking about Elaine... Edelweiss glanced at the girl tiptoing her way in the background. That fluffy brown hair seen beyond the piles of paper was hard to mistake. A little bit amusing, even...
everything that was said , everything Her Mother Edelweiss told her there was a lot to take in ,a lot to process and this could have ended in different ways but no one knows fully.
Eryn had needed a moment , she know this was the moment that her answer mattered , on one hand she was just a orphan who had lost everything in her life, lost what made her Innocent from the moment she was born, lost her arm to a Rat, lost her home to a mad man and ended up top side in lodan with her cursed blood that in the end would be her undoing as her hands where stained in both black and red from the monster inside her....
On the other hand , she had had done a lot above, she met a lot of people, helped people in need, she always had a heart of gold and always found a song in her heart and she always stood up when things where bad. she looked up to everyone in her CAEsAL family and wanted to be like them. but to be an assassin would mean her hands could never be clean of red and black. she would always be judged for the murders and never would be able to see herself as the girl of Innocent white , she would no be the China mouse she was as she would never be clean.
Eryn choose her answer " Y.... Yes ...Yes Mama....I can " she stutter as she smiled with her eyes open to her still tearful , if her answer was wrong at lest she would see Mama for the last moment before her life would be stolen...... if she was right ...... only the future would tell what would happen to her.

Elaine was reading over the board, keeping her actions quiet and simple. She was flicking her gaze through the papers on the board, she had plenty of hours tonight to do nothing. Might as well fill it with something to do. As curious as she was about the rooms' other occupants she had no desire to look nosy. The ander kept to herself and lightly tapped her sharp claws on her arm. There was one man that caught her eye on this board. He had a crooked nose, must have been broken at some point, and long greasy hair pulled back into a ponytail. More piercings than he really needed. He looked to be quite the character. She reached up, pulling the pin off and taking the slip for herself. She continued to read it. Not quite a brute, he would be about as quick as she was. She'd have better luck with an ambush. Oh, look at her, being a strategist. Elaine folded up the paper and slipped it into her pocket, turning and starting to make her way to the stairs.

An affirmative answer... Although expected, it was still a bit heartbreaking, if Edelweiss were to be honest wth herself. Guess she wouldn't be able to shield Eryn any further, or see her as just a little girl anymore. But all children grow someday, that is an unavoidable truth. "Very well..." The redhead sighed, reaching out a hand to ruffle the girl's hair again. "I'll settle everything for your new training schedule in the next couple days. Until then, keep going to the informant classes, you really have to master reading - and stop skipping the self-defense lessons, understood? You have to take those, for your own good."
Talking of young girls growing, however, there was still another one there, quietly standing in the room and unpinning her papers. Edelweiss picked a random blotter and lightly tapped Elaine's head with it. "And you, young Miss, to walk straight into my office and browsing my lists for work rather than downstairs, were you looking for something harder than usual?"
Eryn nodded as she hugged Her mother "t thank you Mama ... I .... I know this is going to be difficult ..... for both of us ..... just there is a lot of things that I know about myself ... like my real blood mother never wanted me like this...... I know what I am and I know sooner or later everything I have done will always come back to hunt me for what i did ..I killed and I coursed Sororicide and Regicide of my own bloodline of unlodan........ but I choose this path , to follow yours and everyone's footsteps , Mama " she stopped to as Edelweiss to talk as Eryn noticed Elaine in the room as she looked a bit worried.

Elaine ducked away from the small attack with the blotter. "Hey, I was only looking. You were busy talking so I thought about picking one out and waiting till you were done to come back and talk about it." She grinned, flashing some white teeth in a smirk. "But honestly where's the fun in working here if I can't have a challenge from time to time?" The older assassin turned to Eryn with a bright smile and a small wave. "Hey Eryn!" She hadn't been in here to be nosy so she had no idea what their conversation was about. She caught bits a pieces but it was none of her business. The feline Ander turned her green gaze back to Edel holding up the papers and waving them around. "Is this alright for me? Or do I need to put the cookie back in the cookie jar?"

"...Well, as long as you understand... Don't regret that decision later on, alright." Because even if she regrets it later, then it'd be too late to turn back. Informants knowing about assassins and becoming one themselves were two very different things. Edelweiss could only hope if this really is the path Eryn has a vocation for, then that she won't be wavering in it and taking every task and lesson seriously - even when they progressively get harder.
And then there's Elaine... A bit of a half-smile grew on the redhead leader's face as she watched the two younger girls. "You may keep the 'cookie' this time. Just be careful." Snack allegories aside, her own list of targets shouldn't be lacking if what Elaine was looking for was a challenge. "Also, may I assume you're improving in memorizing the guild passages? If yes, I'd like to add a little task for you and have you accompany me in one of the next conjoined magic lessons we have with MI. Watching stabilished interguild business should be good for starting to deepen your Second duties."
Aaaaand... "And if you may, show Eryn the backstage room (and the rest of our 'hooded' personel as well, other than Zona and Jasper) please. If she's to join the rest of us, might as well get to meet everyone."
