Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
open to Edelweiss Fjäril Blood spatter danced across the bricks, worn smooth with age. The body below sat upright against the wall, soft light shimmering against the red that ran from the ratty skin of its wrist in tree branches and river banks, and a knife, stained, rested within open fingers. A suicide, it was to seem. A job well done, Basil thought. His red eyes stared at his handiwork, blank, and brushed his hands against each other, turning away.
Now to get doughnuts!
Or, one doughnut, at least. He didn't really have money for anything more than that. The doughnut wasn't for himself, either. He had strode into the bakery, and ordered the doughnut in a paper bag, thanking the woman at the counter with a cheerful grin before he left.
At the theater district, he wondered what should be done next. Would his guild leader be at home, he wondered? Or would that be too weird, to have an employee come to a boss's house uninvited. That is, if she was at home at all. He didn't think this through, did he? The evening crowd rushed past him as he just kinda stood there. And didn't move.

Edelweiss was walking down the street on her way back from the Main Theater when she caught sight of someone familiar just standing still amid the crowd. Basil? That was a face she had not properly talked to since the Harrowing ball... that night when Sveden's mortar attacks started and everything started going downhill... yeah. Did she even talk with Basil at a decent time other than that day or whenever else they were going around heading to deal with their respective targets? Admitedly, she might have been neglecting a portion of her workers and colleagues lately, at least in what regarded the conversational department. That needed to be fixed. There were too many other things broken and lost by now that leaving fixable issues unattended to simply was not acceptable.
So, when she could be sure Basil wasn't going anywhere, she raised a hand in a bit of a greeting wave and approached.
Basil blinked once, doing a double take, then exclaimed "Edelweiis!" And bounded over to her. "I got doughnuts! -Er... One doughnut!" He said, and held the bag out towards her. "I hope you like the kind with sprinkles. It's my favorite so I sorta thought 'hey, who doesn't like sprinkles?' and then... I got you the sprinkle doughnut." He winced a little "Although if you don't like sprinkles..."

The redhead blinked. Well, wasn't Basil in a talkative mood today? It was even a bit hard to react to him... which was impressive in its own way, alright. Had it been any other normal day, that display of liveliness would have made her laugh in amusement for sure, but as things were now Basil would have to content himself with receiving just a small smile in response. It was more than most were getting from her lately anyway, so hopefully it'd be enough. And as for the doughnut...
"I like any type of doughnuts (and sweet pastries in general, but doughnuts are my favorite)." She replied simply, taking the bag when it was offered and giving him a pat on the shoulder when he winced. "Thanks. Is this a gift for some incoming holiday? You seem to be in a really chipper mood."
