Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Kalum was genuinely surprised. This tree was as thick as their trains were wide which meant it was not gonna be chopped down by a single man with his sword. Hell, an axe would have quaked at the girth of this tree. "Well, guess all I have to do is wait until you get tired or your sword breaks but one of those things is happening before you get through this tree," teased the captain as he watched Roy. Now, normally Kalum did not like to egg people on or talk dirty in a fight but in this moment he could not hep the sight below. Others were now stopped in their training to watch the man with the green sword and the man in the tree. At first Kalum began to hum a song but then it turned into a boisterous and horribly sung song.
Maybe he was stuck. But no, that was not the case. In an actual fight he still had his bows and arrows.

Roy continue to attack the tree as he slowly start to make a small grove i the tree , as he rage was not going to stop , he know he could cut down this tree. it was like any other tree that had got in his way as he sword kept chopping as he started to attack it harder and harder. He was not going to let this man make fun of him as he shouted " ILL WILL BRING THIS TREE DOWN AND END YOU " he had fought for hours before and this fight was not going to be different , he would not stop until he had done what he had done what he had set out to do or had to stop or forced to stop. however he did not see his swords slowly starting to fail.

Kalum yawned as he watched the man whack helplessly at the tree. Surprisingly, he had made a mark on the wood though that was perhaps as much as the tree would give before Roy's sword would either dull or break. Swords were not good at such work which is why axes had been invented. "You may try," he drawled, "but somehow I do not think that will be the case, Greenheart. Let me know when you finally give up and this training session can finally be at an end."

Roy was about to swing again but he stopped and noticed his swords condition , he only recently had it re honed and now all that work was gone which just made him more angry. He decided that chopping down the tree was not the faster way to kill this man, so he stabbed his sword into the ground before climbing up the tree " AM COMING TO KILL YOU, RABBIT!" HE shouted up as he climb, using a few of the cuts he made for footing.

Hm, killing. That never sounded good to Kalum. A spar was one thing but actual intent to harm was another. As he sat there watching Roy trying to climb his way up he debated on his options. He could simply shoot the man in the hands which would ensure he couldn't climb... or use his sword for awhile. That would make him useless in the war. Or he could run and wait until the man tired but there were more pressing matters to tend to. A quick glance around the yard had proven that many had stopped their training to watch the engagement and therefore were slacking off. What would be least damaging to Roy... A frown tugged at his lip as he stood and climbed away from the tree's trunk while notching an arrow into bow. He would aim for the shoulder, just beneath the collar bone. That might do it. Kalum took his time in aiming then released the arrow.

all of a sudden , Roy felt a sudden pain in his arm as he lost his grip and fell back down to the ground, landing on his back. he could not see it as it was coming from his blind side but he reached over and felt it , it was an arrow , the Man had shot him as he was climbing. Roy began to shout "YOU COWARDlY RABBIT!!!" as he began to pull on the arrow as he know there was only 2 ways it could came out "YOU THINK YOU A WARRIOR ..... YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST ORDER ME AROUND , YOU DONT KNOW ME!...... AND YOU DONT KNOW WAR!..... YOU HAVEN'T BEEN!..... FIGHTING SINCE YOU WHERE A CHILD FORCED INTO WAR!... YOU DONT KNOW PAIN OR DEATH!....... YOU JUST KNOW HOW TO AIM AND SHOT!...... YOU HAD NOT BEEN TOLD! .... YOU WHERE WORTHLESS!.....NOT GIVEN A BLADE, THROWN TO THE FRONT AND TOLD! .... TO KILL OR BE KILLED!" as Roy finished, he Ripped out the arrow , causing him to scream in pain as the smell of blood stated to intoxicate his rage. his could not move his arm anymore as took a a second to recover his bearings as the pain ran along as he tried to regain movement.
Kalum cringed as the man pulled the arrow out. Not the wisest of things he could have done, thought the captain before lowering himself to the ground. "Medical, this sparring match is over. This unit needs your assistance," Kalum called to the medical unit often standing by during training sessions. A woman and a man both nodded and took up their kits before heading over to try and get a look over Roy's wound. As they did, Kalum mulled over Roy's words while watching to see what he would do--let the two help him or continue on. Was he a warrior? No. The thought made him chuckle a little. He was a hunter. A soldier. With a sigh, he slung the bow onto his back and folded his arms over his chest. "You make quick judgement and false accusations without knowing the man behind the weapon your enemy wields. In battle, that is a fatal error. Any seasoned veteran would know that, Greenheart. Evidently you are not seasoned. Your sob story does not matter either when it comes to the fields. Your enemy will not care to let you get a word in before putting you down. They will not care you were a child or not when you picked up that sword. Had this been an actual battle I am certain I can put an arrow in your throat before you move, but this is not an actual battle--just a sparring match.
You cannot say I do not know pain or death because I do. Every person does, that is what makes us human. Some of us are fortunate and others not. How can you stand there and shout that I do not know you when you shout such things at me whilst know nothing of me? I enlisted into the academy when I was fifteen. Granted, I was no child but I was young still. Hardly a man. When I was eighteen, I went on my first scouting mission in which my squad downed a shadow beast but not until it had claimed the lives of three civilians and two of my friends. I do know pain and I do know death. I also know failure. I am no warrior, I am a soldier. You are neither."
for a moment Roy was silent as the Rabbit talked , it was trying to be higher then him , it was trying to know more then him , as the medics came close to him he let he spoke "that it? ..... you think that what you see .... you dont know anything until you known that more then once , more then 10 time , maybe 100 times .... , your right about one thing , they did not care if I was a child , they didn't care when they butchered every single one they came across on the battle field ...." with his good arm he reached to his eye patched and removed it , throwing it to the side " that is war alright right , kill or be killed , with the leaders sitting in fat chairs eating fancy food as they send the dependable pawns to die for their cause .... that is war as I have seen it from the inside for a dozen times" Roy reached over to his sword as he still had a good arm as he walked passed the medics toward the Rabbit as he pushed forwards despite his feeling to stand down. he had too much pride to admit defeat.
" sure am not soldier , am no warrior , I am just a killer, born and bread on in war, forced to be a monster.. a demon instead of a human for men greed ..... a life I tried to get away from meany times ... and in the end war seem to follow me like a curse that hurts too this day .... as long as this does .... I stick to what I know that has not killed me yet ..... might makes right ..... kill or be killed ..... so this match is not over..... not by a long shot .... you challenged me ... " Roy looked up at him showing hole that was once his eye as he dashed forward and swan his dulled sword as fast and as hard as he can to attempt to cut the Rabbit in 2 "AND I CHOOSE TO NOT DISAPPOINT TILL THE END"
Stubborn. Everything went in one ear and right other, thought Kalum. If only they hadn't taken an ear instead of an eye--then maybe he would have an excuse. Of course the man chose to ignore the medical aid coming towards him and with an approach towards his own person, Kalum could only suspect what Roy would do. His arms lowered from his chest and he shifted his weight to one foot to be ready to move. When the dash came Kalum had hardly the time to react and ducked out of the way. Locks of hair had been shaved off from where the blade nearly split his head in two and after raising a hand to his head to feel the loss of his hair, he reached for the bow and arrow. This had to end now. Charging away to gain distance from Roy since he had no doubt the man would chase, he notched an arrow then turned to fire it for Roy's other shoulder.
it happen so suddenly as Roy chased after the rabbit as the arrow shot as close as it was shot into and penetrated to the other side of Roy's remaining shoulder , the pain was enough that he was forced to part ways with his blade as it rang out as it hit the ground , now both his arms where out as he screamed in pain but he was not done , he had to keep pushing , this was a battle, he had to win or else he would die. fighting the pain he decided that he would have to use what he had left as he charged at the man as she screamed out "I WILL NOT STOP TILL I WIN OR AM DEAD LIKE HOW OUR FOES THINK , THE RULES OF WAR! , KILL OR BE KILLED! " he was bleeding lot as his vision was not starting the blur up and he felt a bit light headed but he was going to accept defeat. he would want defeat to be what a defeat meant to be . a one way road to hell.

An audible groan left the Captain. "For drat's sake. It's a spar, not a battle to death. You're being absolutely pathetic, Greenheart. I am not going to kill you and you sure as hell are not going to kill me," spat the soldier as he side stepped and went to swing his bow for the man's gut, hoping it would impact and stop the man from his senseless rampage. "I've had enough of your pathetic spiel. Start acting like a soldier instead of some self pitying baboon."

as the bow impacted his gut however his momentum was unaffected as he lunged and throw himself at the Rabbit as he attempted to bite at his neck to attempt to crush his wind pipe , he didn't say anything and only had one goal now , to fight to the end. his vision was more blured and his head was spinning , he know he only had minutes to end this man and end this challenge. if he didn't, death would follow regardless of insubordination execution or blood loses there and then, it was the way he wanted. he did not want to leave unfinished busyness , and he did not want to step down and be looked at as a coward, he would not accept a loses , it would only be victory or death. following what he wanted to believe, and one way or the other it would get him out of the war.

Perhaps Kalum would have failed to dodge, perhaps not. Before any action from the huntsman could be taken, his medical unit had stepped in to tackle the larger man down. One after another came in to pin the man down--and another unit from a nearby squad had come for assistance. In total, six men and women now fought to restrain Roy and work on securing his wounds in order to stop the bleeding so he would not die. Kalum's brows shot up in feigned surprised. Interesting turn of events, he thought to himself.
Uh, sorry Roy, I would rather your character not die.

Victory came so close for Roy, but before he could land and deal the killing blow a man rushed in and tackled him , then another , then another , then another. Roy fought back what what he had left in him as they felt to the ground , managing to throw off 2 of the men with his feet before they jumped back onto to him as more came. Roy resisted as he shouted "GET OFF ME! , I NEED TO END THi" before Roy could end his words , one final man decided to shout his mouth by beating on his head with 3 consecutive punches to his skull , enough to put Roy into a more manageable state for the team .
[visions of near death]
In darkness Roy found himself back in a place he know well , the cross roads of his mind, he know he was close to death so he excepted as much as Voices of his own thoughts and subconscious begin to talk to him. "well we lost ..... he beat you and them men are amazingly loyal to him " said a Voice that took the form of a young child with long brown hair. "BUT HE DID NOT WIN IN THE WAY WE WANTED, WHY DIDN'T HE JUST SHOOT AND FORGET! WHY NOT KILL LIKE THE OTHERS WHO TIED TO TAME US!" said another voice that took the form of a wolf. Roy looked at them both as the child continued "am think this man means well... he yet to understand why we are like this.... I think we should tell them when we wake up... that if we wake up... " the wolf Growled "ARE YOU KIDDING, HE WOULD LEAVE US TO HANG TO DRY, I KNOW THESE ARMY TYPES, THEY ARE ALWAYS ABOUT OATHS AND RULES!." Roy took a minute to listen to the 2 before him before he grind and smiled and then giggled before given his answer "well... I got my answer ..... he no rabbit since his men did step in to save him .... that strength alright .... lets throw him a bone then if we do wake up .... see where this crazy train will lead us .... one way or the other I know am gonna get killed by something for this at most.... at this point am used to not caring for myself... imagine if the wife heard me say that, she would have me in the frying pan"

While the men and women did their work in subduing Roy, Kalum stood near with his arms crossed over his chest and a hand lifted to his chin as he thought over the last few moments. "Take him to the infirmary. I will be there at a later time." A round of yessirs answered Wulfgang before the man turned and left. While the medical unit tended to Roy, it would be some time before they were through with the wounds, Captain Wulfgang sat at his desk with paperwork set about him in neat and orderly piles.
"Disobeying orders and attempting to murder an officer are not pretty things, Wulfgang," came the accented statement.
"They are not, General."
"And what will you do with him? He is a foreigner, no? I believe your countries policies dictate he should be expelled from your army. Foreigners acting like that here make it harder for people like myself to--"
"General, with all due respect, people look at you differently. These are my men. I will not dismiss him unless you so wish to, but I do not give up on my own."
The woman lifted her head and eyed the man coolly before taking several slow and calculated steps toward his desk. Their gazes met and challenged one another as she stopped just before the wooden structure. "Admirable of you, but I hope I do not have to warn you that at times such as war you should cut those who endanger your path to victory."
"Without men or women, there will be no one to pave that path to victory, General Winters. If you will pardon me," he retaliated and moved to stand. "I have a soldier to go check on." Stepping around his desk, Kalum made for the door and once outside he let out a sigh of relief. At least she hadn't tried to stop him though he could feel her eyes--or rather her eye boring into him. Sometimes he wished he could tell what she was thinking. A fair amount of time passed before he finally found his way to the infirmary where he hoped Roy would be waking soon.
"How is he," inquired the man as he approached the soldier laying in bed.
"Stable. He'll live--won't be much use for awhile while he recovers, but no severe damage." A nod was given in reply. All that was left to do was wait.
