Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

The commanding officer was currently helping load one of the crates, but he occasionally stood up to bark more order to the people who he deemed as slackers. Currently, no one had noticed the people spying on everyone from the trees. However, there were a group of soldiers walking towards the mechs Howl was hiding by to inspect them. As that happened, a soldier dropped his helmet near where the twins were hidden. It went rolling past the tree they stood behind. If they didn't act quickly, the man chasing after it would see them.
Howl listened intently at what the officer was saying and doing. So intently in fact that he barely managed to see the soldiers walking straight towards him. In a panic Howl quickly turned around to flee but tripped and fell into a bush. Howl froze as soon as he fell, he could not risk getting up to run. All he could do was sit and wait and hope that they would not see him. He started getting nervous, waiting was the worst.

The two watched quietly as everything happened, not moving or making a sound but once a wondering helmet came to rest near their feet the two froze for a moment, hearing foot steps come closer and closer, ones that had to belong to the owner of the headgear.
"What in the world..." Emelo whispered as he looked down at the helmet for a moment before turning his attention to the footsteps. Mouth hanging open a bit he quickly turned to look at his brother.
Leo having been just a bit quicker with the look was already staring at Emelo, "Hide!" He whispered before turning around and darting up the nearest tree. Thanks to his claws Leo made it to the top of the tree and out of sight in no time, though he did make sure to stay on the opposite side of the tree and as close to the trunk of it as possible, just in case someone happened to look up.
Emelo nodded before turning to the tree behind him to do the same. Emelo realized he didn't have time to scale the tree so instead, dove into one of the nearby bushes, getting as close to the ground as possible, and backing up as far into it as he could. Unlike his brother, Emelo always had a hard time climbing and took nearly twice as long as Leo, in the end this was the best option for him. He just hoped he was far enough into the bush not to be seen.
The two froze and remained silent, waiting for the man to grab his helmet and leave. Both looking over some they tired to spot where the other was and where the helmet was s well, all they could do was wait now.

“What was that?” the soldier nearest to Howl asked accusingly. The men standing around him looked around confused for a moment, until another one dared to speak up. “I heard it too. It sounded like it came from over there.” He pointed towards where Howl was hiding. The one who spoke first seemed to be of a higher rank than the three others. Grabbing another of the men, he pushed him towards the bush. “Check it out,” he ordered. Nodding, the man took out his gun and pointed it at the bush, stepping forward slowly to investigate.
On the other side of camp, the helmet-seeking soldier was already getting verbally reprimanded for letting his gear get away. And while he did hear the bush rustle, he was too worried about getting back to work to stop and investigate it. He did, however, make a mental note of the spot in case he had the chance to check it out later.

Tyrell rounded back in time to find the three not where he had left them. Spotting one also found him Sveden troops closing in on him. Uncertain of what to do, Tyrell flew low and out of sight then perched himself on a tree branch. What could he do, what could he do... From the dirt he formed a rock then used telekinesis on it to lift the rock upward before launching it in the opposite direction of where his allies were but close enough to the soldiers investigating that they would hear it ricochet off one of their machine monstrosities. Hopefully that would distract them away from the others. If only he knew a bit of deceit--he could have added an animal to the illusion.

The two let out a light sigh as the man left and ran back to the others in his group. The two were lucky he was with those other people, if the man was not being scolded about his helmet then the two of them would have been found out for sure.
Looking around some Leo jumped down from the tree once the coast was clear, "That was close." He said in a hushed voice as he looked around a bit more, wondering just how far away the group of men were. Looking back over to his brother Leo offered a hand to help the other twin up with.
"Ya..." Emelo said as he popped up from the bush, grabbing Leo's hand and standing up, looking off in the same direction his brother was just looking. Letting out a sigh Emelo turned to look back towards the camp some, "Come on, let's get a better view and see how Ho- I mean Mummy is doing." Emelo said, not really wanting to stay in the same spot after what just happened.
Nodding some Leo turned his attention back over to the camp, "Ya. Lets go." He said before moving over some, waiting for his brother to follow.
The two didn't go much farther but did find a better spot to watch Howl and once they got there the two noticed the group of men that were making their way over to Howl.
"Oh man... That's not good... Should we go help him?" Emelo asked as he moved a bit closer, ready to help.
"No." Leo said as he placed a hand on his bothers shoulder, "We are here as a last resort. If the kid gets caught then we can go help but until then were have to stay off to the side and in the shadows. This is his trial after all." Leo said as he looked at the group of men, just then something shot off and made a rustling sound on the other side of the camp.
The two looked off to were the noise came from, all the twins could do was hope that the men would go after that rather then the boy.
Howl sat frozen with fear staring at his small ice statue which had landed in front of him. He herded the voices behind him coming to get him. I need to run but they definitely will see me. Maybe I coul...BANG! A loud metal clank sound came from behind him. It was enough to snap him out of his trance. Howl immediately saw this as his only chance to get away. He shuffled forward off of his bush and grabbed his his ice statue and ran a little out into the woods to try and lose the soldiers if they decided to come back after him.

The man holding the gun swung quickly in the direction of where the rock hit the metal, slightly panicked eyes scanning the area. And then he saw one of the bushes move. “There!” he said in a voice louder than he intended and ran towards it. The two low ranking soldiers ran after him, but the other one remained. He had concluded that it was just an animal, something that were unseen in these woods. But just because they hadn’t seen any didn’t mean that there weren’t none. Chuckling, he was about to turn and return to his duties when he head more rustling and looked towards the bush, seeing a shadowy figure stand up and begin running.
Blinking, it took him a moment to react to what he saw, but he knew what he saw. Reaching for a whistle on his neck, he gave it a blow. The piercing sound that resulted was enough to make the entire camp turn and face him. “Spies!!!!” he screeched, pulling out his gun and then taking off after the shadowy man. Several other soldiers near him joined him in the chase.
A little farther off, however, the man who had lost his helmet pointed in a different direction in the woods. “I heard them over here too!!” he shouted and the men who had witnessed him running after his equipment nodded without hesitation, picking up their guns to investigate that area of the woods as well.
Among all this organized panic, the commanding officer stood up and cupped his hands around his mouth, issuing a string of orders. “Factions Gamma and Delta, secure all weaponry immediately!! All other squadrons, your primary task is to scout the area and find all spies! I want them dead or alive!! Follow protocol and I want a status report every two minutes!!”
Everyone stopped for a moment and then went back to their tasks. The majority of the soldiers began fanning out with guns at the reason, scouting the area for any sign of human presence.

A small upturn of the corner of his lips occurred when the soldiers seemed to turn attention toward his distraction but the expression fell when he saw them turn back toward Howl. What happ--oh no, he'd gotten up too soon. If he had been quiet just a moment longer perhaps they might have forgotten him. A palm was brought to his masked face but was soon dragged down so he could watch the ongoing events from his hidden perch, waiting to see when it would be proper time for him to jump in any further and aid this new recruit.
As Howl ran into the woods he heard someone call out "Spies!" As he heard this Howl tripped over something in that dark and almost fell over. Time started to move slowly in his head, reflecting back on this event Howl knew exactly what this was; just as his parents had told him, it was an affect the brain has during a stressful or traumatic event causing your perception of time to slow down. Thoughts where running through his head, most of them too fast to process what they mean. There were two over arching thoughts: I need to get back to HQ and I need to get the twins. Then Howl did trip and fall over, as he hit the floor Howl's mask fell off in front of him. With his mask off Howl was able to breathe easier and time started to move back into place. He started too think things through better. Picking himself up, grabbing his mask, and the small ice statue, Howl looked behind him. He had apparently not moved to far from the camp. Howl started running again but this time to get the twins. Running as fast as he could back to the camp, he saw two figures, that he hoped to be the twins, somewhat near where he fell in that bush. Not even bothering to stop and tell them what was happening, as he ran past them he said "Run!" Howl figured that they would be smart enough to figure out what was happening and take the hint that Howl would not be staying. Howl could only hope that that the camp wouldn't catch him and that he would get exhausted from the running.

"dung..." Leo cursed to himself as he watched the camp explode with people running left and right. Great this was just what the boy needed.... "Well now might be the time to get in there and help..." Leo said as he watched Howl run off, "Where is he going though..." Leo said as the boy disappeared into the forest.
"L maybe we should worry about them for right now..." Emelo said as he took a step back toward his brother as he looked over to the side where the noises and voices were coming from. Worry began to take over in his mind as he heard the men draw in closer.
Leo narrowed his eyes some as he looked over to see what his brother was talking about. Great just what they needed... Thinking it over some the two of them could stand up to these guys after all there weren't that many in that group, but going after Howl would have to wait then.
"RUN!" The two whipped around when they heard this, only to see Howl running towards the camp. The two looked over there with a bit of shock to their faces. Did he think they were over there? Well might as well join up with him it would at least get them away from these guys.
"Go, Go go go!" Leo said as he began to push his brother towards the boy, "We will catch up with him then lead them off somewhere into the forest away from Headquarters." Leo said as he began to run behind his brother.
"Alright." Emelo said as he got the picture and began to run towards where Howl just was.
The two made it over to the boy with ease seeing as how not many of the guards were in the forest, as it was the hardest part was running and avoiding bushes and fallen branches. Once the two caught up they both ran along side the boy. Looking over their shoulder here and there to see who all and how many were following them.
"Well ya got a plan or are we just gonna keep running?" Leo asked as he looked over to the boy.

Several men stayed close on Howl’s tail, even coming so close as to almost see his face when the young man fell. But then Howl jumped up and ran off again. “After him!!” the man screeched, gaining a new burst of speed as he followed Howl.
Over by the twins, some soldiers were fanning out and getting rather close to where the twins were hiding. Only they were interrupted as Howl bolted by. They took up the chase rather quickly, however, and when the twins joined next to Howl, they had a good idea at how many spies were here.
With the increased amount of targets, one man veered off to the side of the group and pulled out his gun, taking aim while running and letting a shot ring off, piercing the air. He probably wouldn’t hit his target, but he had to try. Around him, several other soldiers began reaching for their guns, struggling to take aim while chasing after the spies.
Up ahead, more soldiers were in the woods searching, and just so happened to be were the masked men were running to…
Howl ran and ran. He was trying to get away in general from the troops. He knew that leading them to HQ would not be the smartest so he just ran. When the twins caught up with Howl his heart jumped as he thought the troops had caught up with him. "I-I suppose we could split up... ya.. lets do tha..." Howl said just as a gun shot's bang rang loud in the air. Howl looked around him and saw the numerous other people pulling out there guns. Panicking howl said "Lets s-split up" Howl started to run off to veer off to the left. He hoped that the twins themselves would split up so they could hopefully lead more of them off trail. Howl started to slow down, he was getting tired of running. I cant keep running forever.

The twins listened as the boy spoke, he sounded unsure about splitting up at first but once the gun shot rang out it seemed like he changed his mind. The boy took off, leaving the twins running next to one another.
"Well we just meet up with him and he's tellin' us to leave. Nice." Leo said as he looked over his shoulder, noticing all the men pulling out guns.
"He did come up with a plan though." Emelo said as he just kept running.
"Ya... well you know the drill." Leo said as he turned to look back in front of him.
The two looked towards one another before darting off in front of one another, heading off in opposite directions. Though the two split they didn't go incredibly far, just barely out of sight from one another, continuing to go the same direction. The two keep this up for a small bit of time ducking and diving here and there when shots were fired at them. They had a trick up their sleeves but decided to wait, after all they had to save the best for last.

As the spies divided themselves, the soldiers divided up as well. They called out to each other their positions every few seconds, but as they got farther from camp, the calls became fewer and harder to hear. Still, these soldiers were trained for war. They wouldn’t be running out of energy any time soon while pursuing the spies.
Back in camp, almost all of the machinery had been packed away and readied for transport. Which meant that the factions who had been doing that could now turn their attention towards guarding the spies. The commanding officer strode around, face a light tint of red as it consistently scowled. Occasionally a soldier would approach him with a status report, but it was always the same status; “in pursuit.” He wanted them captured and he was getting impatient.
Walking towards one of the mechanical walkers that wasn’t quite packed away completely, he placed a hand on the soldier handling it. “Do you know how to operate this?” he asked in a steady voice. The soldier nodded. “Unpack it and get in.” Again the soldier nodded and began undoing his packing work. He wasn’t sure why the officer wanted him piloting the mech, but he knew better than to ask.
