Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Open to Faolan Skye (and the remaining members of the eyepatch club if they're interested) It's a pleasant early afternoon. Not as warm as a summer day would be (of course not, it's autumn now) but there was sun in the sky and a few fluffy white clouds lazily drifted by. Edelweiss got lost in thought watching them through the windows of the Main Theater's resting room for a couple seconds, but that was fine; she had already finished checking everything for the symphony that would be up on stage later that day, no workers were calling her over for anything right then, and although she had scheduled some things for herself to do today there was still some time before she needed to head to anywhere specific.
A tall pendulum clock stood against the further wall and it would warn her if she loses track of time too long. The set of couches and a polished low wood table was at the center of the room, and against on the opposite wall from where the clock stood there was a piano - dark polished wood, like the low table. It was there more for decoration purposes than for anyone who might play it, but the redhead wandered towards it anyway and sat at the stool. It had been a long while since she last played, maybe over a year, she never counted. Did she even remember how? Only one way to find out.

"Thanks!" Amon said, waving a hand at the person who helped to give him directions. He needed to let Edel know that the sparring machines that she had requested were completed. At least, that was the official reason.
The other reason was simply to see her. That, and confirm plans for the upcoming Masquerade Ball.
As he was making his way to the waiting room, he began to hear music playing. It sounded a little rough here and there, but overall, whoever was playing was really good.
Just as he got to the threshold, he spotted who was playing, and rather than interrupt her, was content with standing at the doorway until she was finished.

I got rusty, that's a fact...
Edelweiss thought with a sigh as her hands danced over the musical keys. It would probably help if she even knew whatever song is it she's playing, but truth is she was pretty much sherlock-ing it in piano version just trying to get a better feel of the keys and motions again. It didn't feel smooth enough, at least not with the constance it should have - she could even imagine, faintly, the figure of her father standing behind with a hand placed on her shoulder, shaking his head between parental amusement and disaproval: 'Try again from the start, honeybee'.
It was a silly thought, faded as the memory, but it made her smile a bit and start playing something else she could actually remember from around that time. Still not perfect, but it did sound better (in her personal opinion), mainly with a bit of voice to compensate for any hacky parts in the played notes.
Since a few minutes ago she had the impression of someone passing by and looming around. It wasn't like the Theater was fully deserted though, nor she was doing anything illegal. Nor even embarrassing, though she certainly wouldn't dare playing at any any actual stages until retaking a lot of practice. It didn't feel like a threatening presence either, so she didn't turn to see nor send the person away.

The girl at the front had told him Edel was in the resting room, and after some pretty specific directions, and some chuckling on her part, she'd pointed him in the right direction and sent him off. It had been a bit since she'd offered to teach him more about deception and he was looking to take her up on the offer. With everything going on he needed every edge he could get, especially if he meant to continue sneaking around the city avoiding EIRAL troops who might know him.
He could hear the piano and the singing as he neared the room. Whoever it was instilled in him some memory of the past, when he used to attend concerts in the park with his wife and daughter. It was sweet, yet almost sorrowful in its melody. Could it be Edel playing and singing? She'd mentioned a talent for such things, but as all artists, had tried to play it down as being out of practice. Such self-deprecating people. Though they didn't have the market on such things. He moved forward, trying to push the old memories aside.
As he neared the door to the room, he saw someone else was standing there, appreciating the music. He recognized the man right away, with his mechanical arm and strange eye patch. What was Amon doing here? Skye was about to turn around and retreat when he remembered something Edel had told him in the bakery. Mingo's was spying on the EIRAL. He couldn't believe such a thing would be happening without their leaders knowledge.
So, after taking in a deep breath, he walked up to the man and nodded, "Afternoon, Amon. It's been a while."
Amon was enjoying Edel's playing when a familiar voice shook him out of his reverie. He turned to see a face he didn't think he'd see again anytime soon.
"...Indeed," he replied, raising an eyebrow. "Didn't think I'd see you around...at least not this soon."
"At least you're in one piece...sort of..." he continued, noting Skye's now missing orb.

Her fingers reached the last note, then just moved away from the keys to rest on her lap as she turned around. "Good afternoon to you too." The redhead greeted the two with an amused smile on her face as they chatted between themselves. It had been kind of fun playing on guessing whoever was it watching her without turning to look, but the game ended in the moment Skye spoke. He had mentioned Amon, so that was who was there first, and his voice delated himself. She could think of a couple different reasons why each of them had came there, but couldn't quite fathom why they were just standing still by the door rather than coming into the room and taking a seat... and she mentally agreed with Amon that Skye was only sort of in one piece. There went Lodan again with its twisted habit of giving its habitants unneeded eye damage. "Don't you two want to come in and take a seat?

Skye touched his eyepatch absentmindedly as Amon brought up the fact that he was only kind of in one piece. That much was true, and his recovery was only thanks to Caitlin pushing him so hard. He owed her much and more.
"Yes, looks like I'm part of the much lauded eyepatch club," he said to Amon with a smile. Only a moment later, Edel finished playing and invited them into the room. He nodded and found a rather comfortable looking sofa to plop down on. To tell the truth, walking still took a large toll on his overall stamina. It had been a long and painful road, and he still had much further to go. He needed to get his skills with a sword back up to par again. Perhaps if he could find where Caitlin had hidden Lorraine.
"...The what now?" Amon asked, an amused expression forming on his face. "By the way, beautiful playing Edel," he said as he made his way to one of the couches and sat down.
"I guess since you're now a part of this...'eye patch club,' I could make you one of these," he said to Skye, fiddling around with the dials on his eye patch to show off the two hidden lens. "Could be useful you know~"

"Thanks... And I see you've got really comfortable, to be making merchant offers in here." It might have sounded like an upset statement if it wasn't for the fact everything about the redhead - from tone of voice to that grinning facial expression - was delating how much it amused her instead. It was pretty funny, really.
Since she wasn't playing the piano anymore, Edelweiss stood up from the stool and moved to the couches (meanwhile Skye gives whatever reply he'll give to the eyepatch offer), stopping to stand behind where Amon is now sitting and looping her arms around him in a pretty relaxed hug while resting her chin on the top of his head. "I've got a couple guesses on what each of you came here for, but couldn't narrow it down fully so you will have to tell me. Came for business or just a visit?" And then she looked more directly at Skye. "And you, for lessons or for doughnuts?"
Watching him fiddle with the custom eye patch kind of creep'd him out. He didn't want anything else inside his head that wasn't part of his natural body. "No thanks, Amon, I think I'll just go with the standard fashion statement," he smiled trying to be polite.
He watched Edel move and wrap her arms around Amon in a symbol of ownership, as one is want to do in a relationship. He wanted that as well with a certain someone, to be that comfortable, but there were still certain obstacles in his path.
"Well, can't I have come for both?" he grinned, responding to Edel's question. Perhaps she could use the doughnuts as a reward for when he got something right. It was an amusing thought.
"Alright then..." Amon replied, slightly disappointed. "I don't normally offer that to other people; thought you'd appreciate it. I'll keep the offer on the table though..."
As Edel slid her arms around him, he moved his left arm to grasp one of her hands. His jealousy sensor went off when he heard her question to Skye; especially after hearing his reply. Thankfully, much of that was placated by Edel wrapping herself around him.
"Both myself," he replied, looking up a little, trying to see her face. "For one, the sparring bots you requested are ready; I just need a delivery date, and I want to see their first few uses first hand. They'll be a little more expensive, but they should be more durable against your more magical colleagues, plus there are a couple of features I think you'd like," he explained with a small smile. "For two...well...I guess I also wanted an excuse to see you. Also, wanted to confirm plans for the ball."
"...Also...what's this about a 'lesson,'" he asked, an inquisitive look on his face.

"'Both' is a good option." She agreed to them... both, why not.
"Wow, all of them? That was fast, thanks!" No kidding here, from her point of view it hadn't been that long since she had ordered those in the eyepatched mechanic's shop. That working speed was quite a thing. "Anytime you can deliver them works, though the earlier the better... And alright, I don't mind." Don't mind that it'd be more expensive if that means they'd last longer, or that he wanted to be present when her workers or herself start putting the robot to work. ...And she had almost forgotten the oncoming Ball. Oops. She still needed to finish readying that costume on time once she's home. "Oh right, the Ball, it'll be interesting to see what everyone there'll come up as."
Turning her attention back to what Skye had said though, she had to move away from the couches and walk till the closest window, looking out for a couple seconds till spotting the youngling perched outside at a couple meters of distance as if the further sill was the best chair in the world. "Hey Ember, bring us a couple standard boxes, will you?" "You're going to get fat~" "And are you going to get paid~?" "...Be right back in 20 minutes." Then the redhead turned back inside and reapproached the couch, actually sitting down on it this time. "Done, doughnuts are on the way. And the 'lessons' are just some tips on subterfuge I offered to give, because he still isn't very well-practiced on lasting around EIRAL's people without looking suspicious. ...Could start now if there are no objections."
Skye watched the exchange curiously. What did Edel need training robots for? He wasn't in a position to press for information, but perhaps if he just watched and listened he would gain some insight. However, the only thing he gathered was that some of them were meant for magical use. Perhaps they were for self defense classes? Skye hated to think anyone was actively training Anders in using their powers for offensive purposes. It would just fan the flames the EIRAL was already attempting to pour oil on.
"Yes, it's best if I don't look so damned guilty if they stop me to ask for directions," he smiled. It wasn't like he could outrun anyone at the moment.
"Alright, some time next week if that's okay," Amon replied, becoming a little lonely when she went to the window.
Her explanation once she came back, followed by Skye's little additive, caused Amon to stare in disbelief at the former high-commander.
"...You...don't know how to keep a low profile and blend in with the crowd? How the heck did you manage that?!"

"My thoughts are being a soldier in Lodan is more effective in blinding people than whatever causes an eyepatch requirement... And worth to say it forces the vast majority of the remaining population to become professional actors around them." Edelweiss sighed. And sadly enough, she's not joking about that. "So all he's lacking is practice." And an eyeball. But luckily only one.
"To start with, I'll get you through the 3 basic facts: First. There will be details you'll need to fake in front of them, like your facial expressions and overall emotional responses, but there'll be very few stances you might have to outright lie about (your name is one of those exceptions). You chose to go by 'Val'... But is that short for what? Valshe? Valery? Walter? What about a last name? Settle on something for it. There are people who are missing name parts for diverse reasons, but they're far in-between and it will take much more throughout explanation and standing there in a tricky situation than if you just pick something full to call yourself." She gave him a moment to let that sink in, then continued. "Second: Truth is easier to speak of since you won't have to meticulously plan every word, and it might be handy if you can sway someone into not believing you or thinking you're being sarcastic or agreeing with their point even while you're not. And third: Both too much and too little information can make you look suspicious; give the amount that seems more natural, and avoid rambling unless required. Easy to understand until now?"
