Open to EIRAL and anybody around the barracks at the time.
(The song below describes in a general sense the way Andronikos' family had functioned when he was a child. The last lines are especially prominent.)
This morning was... Nice.
Being cooped up inside the subscript of paperwork and otherwise consuming thoughts of the many issues EIRAL faced in these weary weeks was not doing well for Andronikos' state of mind. He needed a break, and the best way to do that, he thought, was to relieve the guard on duty at the front of his post and take the job himself. The succulent sweetness of a peach's juice awoke his sense as he bit into the fruit, while above the sun shimmered white through the edges of cotton clouds. A crisp autumn wind caressed his cheeks, the chill of the season starting to take form, and for these moments, his nerves relaxed, and he was as free as he had been in countless forevers...
As much as he complained about it, Lodan wasn't too terrible. Not too terrible at all. In the morning air, even the hustle and bustle seemed quiet, serene, filling the holes where thoughts of all that stressed him could manifest. The humans here tended to be hardworking and respectful. The town itself had many commodities that he was sure others did not have, and if it were not for the anderswelter vermin and their demon monsters, this town would be almost -
"What a vulgar place." Punctuated syllables and a residue of headtones ensnared all that was pleasant from Andronikos' morning. Approaching the gate was a heavy set man, with round, blotchy red features and wire-like grey hair that sprouted like feathers from the top of his head, in front of his ears until curling around his pasty lips in a stiff beard. His lids fell heavily across his frozen blue eyes, judgmental, unamused, and he sauntered right in front of where Andronikos, who had previously been leaning upon the post, stood straight.
Livid eyes burned as teeth clenched and Andronikos let out only a "Tch" - but inside his gaze was a twinge of fear.
"Now, now," The visitor sneered "Is that all I get? No hello or good morning of any sort? Dear Andronikos, is that really how you greet your own father?"
