Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
A good hunt. Vlad trundled acroos his current building before setting up so he could watch the High Commander move deeper into the Hovel. The place reeked, but it'd be just a little cleaner soon enough. The big man readied his rifle, watched, and waited. Something was bound to happen soon. The big man was focussed on his task, but that didn't stop the the nagging worm in the back of his mind from wondering where his new spotter was. The man was apparently some country boy who'd impressed the Commander or something. It wasn't Vlad's place to ask.
There! Someone was skulking around the alleys. Vlad followed him for a moment before turning back to watch the troop movements. His duty was to provide ranged support for the column, not pick off anyone skulking in the shadows.

Alistair watched as one of the magicals took flight and was brought down expertly by one of the new members. Something that started with a K. He'd have to pay more attention to the man. Luckily he didn't noticed the other person on the roof, as she was beyond his view of the archer's position. He watched as officer's rushed to take the winged Ander into custody. It must have been hiding something to take off like that.
Turning his attention to other issues, he watched as another two Anders were brought forth from their homes in chains. Another officer walked behind them carrying a large satchel marked as explosive ordinance. What would they have been used for if they had not been here to find them? Were they plotting to kill more of his men, or did they have a larger target in mind? Alistair simply shook his head and walked on wards, picking a street at random. If the pathways could even be called streets.
Not long after he began walking, a group of five humans approached him. At least they appeared to be humans. Who could tell with full bloods walking around. He glanced around to see if any of the other EIRAL officers were around, but he couldn't see them. For a brief moment he considered cutting the humans down and saying it was the Anders, but instead he decided to see what they wanted.
"High Commander, this is completely unacceptable," one of them spouted.
"Yes, withdraw your men, you can't arrest these people without cause," spouted one of the women.
"We are under Martial Law, I have complete authority to detain and try dangerous criminals. Pray be gone before I decide to add you lot to the list." Alistair retorted, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword.
"No, we're here to protest the treatment of the Anders," said another woman. With that, they formed a line, blocking his forward progress.
'How ridiculous,' Alistair thought and shook his head. He turned to leave them to their idiocy, but they moved to block his way again. Well, time to revert to his previous plan.
"The Anders are attacking!" he shouted, and drew his sword. Of course, the humans turned to look, and that's when he struck. They didn't have a chance as his blade cut threw them as if he were chopping through brush. Blood flew, splattering his face and clothes, red and black. Good, a dead Ander would add validity to his claim.
As the last one fell, a patrol rounded the corner behind him to see the carnage. Alistair simply pointed with his sword towards the end of the street, "Well don't just stand there, the other's are getting away!" he shouted and watched as his men burst into action, running down the avenue. Hopefully they would find some poor sod to lay more blame on. What a glorious day.
To Zona, a short message from the redhead ringing in her mind so that only her would hear: "Two houses down to the left, the closed alleyway leads to one of our old passageways - walk off and take it." [Deceit I casted once]
And to Andronikos, a slightly different but quite intense urge: You've got diarrhea and really can't hold it in right now. [Deceit II casted once]
What was this? Was he ill? His bowels quenched and he cringed - he had more important things to attend to but... Brown eyes darted, frantic, across the city scape of the hovel in search of something that even slightly resembled a lavatory. Nothing. Nothing. Right before Zona could make an escape, a small child waddled over to her. More? More!? He didn't have time for this! He didn't - Andronikos made a hasty retreat in search of the nearest privy, swearing and loathing his bowels the entire way.

Good, the diversion for Zona worked. Seeing the soldier who had been almost detaining the blue-haired woman hurry away in need of a toilet, Edelweiss peered her head out of the corner and gestured to Zona towards the alleyway she had indicated earlier. 'Take the kid and go'. Once in the alley she would hit the old assassin passages and could walk through the Hovel area while unseen or reach CAEsAL's territory again, which might be for the best. And the child could be taken in. A bit ironic of a fate that EIRAL was filling her guild's ranks with the unfortunate orphans of who they wanted to 'purge'.
"Darker than ever..." She nodded to Jasper. In the previous Civil War there had been bloodshet, sickness and famine yes, but at least there were no military groups invading the Hovel and massacring its Ander inhabitants. The current EIRAL lead was sick in the head and should be taken to a mental facility or shot dead, whatever happens first. "Eryn, go to Zona, she knows where to go. If EIRAL is rampaging around, there might be more kids like that one who will need to be taken to a safer place. Can I leave you in charge of fetching them?" She then turned her attention back to Jasper. "And if you may come with me, we're going to help that one." She pointed at the masked woman perched--- no, stuck at the top of a roof. Vieka. They couldn't take her into anyof CAEsAL's secret passages. But she really needed help to climb down that building and they should help with that. Letting a good doctor potentialy die in those times would be a very idiotic decision.

things had changed as the army men started to putting to sleep people around them as a panic broke out , Eryn insides was ready to make her spring , to go to do something anything to help and Edelweiss command was what she needed , she turned and nodded she started to run to catch up to Zona , to avoid danger or being hit or catches. Eryn castes Speed II as she quickly sped up as she dived , ducked and jumped over objects and people to to try and catch up to zone with the 10 seconds she had of speed.

As the man ran off Zona couldn't help but stand there looking rather confused and lost, "What the hell..." She cursed to herself as she turned back in the direction of the small girl. She still didn't know what to do with the kid, but as Zona looked around some she caught sight of her leader hiding behind a wall motioning for her to go, that way... Looking in the direction and recalling the voice in her head before Zona realized Edelweiss must be wanting her to head back to the theater through one of the passageways hidden in the hovel. As he turned her attention back to the girl a quick motion above the child drew her sight up there. Looking at the thing closer and as it grew in size the nearer it got Zona recognized the thing running towards the two of them. Eryn.
Once the child got closer Zona couldn't help but look back up to see if Edelweiss was going to motion towards something else, but of course she was gone. Go figure... Looking from one girl to another Zona locked her attention on Eryn. Zona wanted to know what was going on, "What the hell Eryn? Why are you guys here?" Zona asked, looking directly at Eryn.

The half breed watched with a sense of detachment as one of her own kind was shot down from the sky, her face blank and not even flinching as she watched him fall to the ground. What worried her more then the brutal act was the startling feeling that she was missing a certain emotion that should have been present, but the brunette couldn't put a finger on what it should have been. Shifting slightly from her relaxed position on the edge of the roof, she trades her view of the wounded Andersweltler in favour of Kalum, her head tilted slightly as she makes sense of his words.
'He's military.'
This isn't a question. It's more than obvious at this point, and the woman internally kicks herself for having not noticed it earlier. Perhaps in this case it's for the better, considering the current situation she finds herself in. “Thanks for the concern, but I don't see why I should move just because the EIRAL feels the need to throw their weight around.” She leans back slightly, looking down at the mayhem around them with that same empty lack of feeling. “Besides, I'm kind of stuck. I didn't think about how I was going to get down when I clambered up here to get away from the stench.”

Kalum's gaze fell to Alistair and for a moment he looked on in horror at how the people were cut down--until he saw the black blood. Steeling himself, he turned his attention on the masked woman and scoffed. With Vladov likely in position now and the increased risk of her being caught by another, Kalum abandoned trying to reason with the woman and simply removed the grappling hook arrow from his quiver after abandoning the other two he held. The huntsman made quick work of removing the rope then stuck the grapple back into the quiver before moving to seize Vieka's hands. If she would not go on her own or could not go on her own he would make her.
Despite any protests she would have made or how she may have struggled he held both her hands tightly in one of his larger calloused hands. With the other he bound her wrists together and with the ties finally secured, pulled her closer to him as he slung the bow across his shoulders. "I am sorry for this," was all he offered as he lifted her arms to hook them about his neck then took her by the waist with both hands to lift her, stuffing her papers into her shirt afterwards. Deft hands slipped down her form to push her legs to either side of his torso and then he closed the distance between himself and the opposite side of the roof of where Alistair was below. At the edge he hopped down onto the lip of the structure before turning to face the building. He could only hope that the woman he took captive for a moment would not thrash and kill them as he released her rear and legs to grab a hold of the roof and begin the climb downwards. By no means was it easy. In fact, where it would have only taken him nearly a minute to descend, it took him far longer to just reach half way down. At the last few feet he simply let go and held onto her as his feet collided with the ground. "You have to leave this place," came his words as he lifted her arms from his neck then cut the rope.

"As you wish." Each word fell from the feline's lips humorlessly without his childish tone or demeanor. This was not the time for jokes and no fun could be had. As Jasper looked to the building his eyes scanned the black-clad woman's perch meticulously, analyzing for any minor complication or possible danger, he found three.
"Careful. The brick fourth from the top is loose. If we're climbing, it might slip out, that is if those brutes," he pointed down the path, "don't catch us first. Doubtful,” he added, "but still. Otherwise, our only real concern is that archer there." He pointed to the hunter near their mark. "Judging from how quickly he downed that man, he's either very skilled or very lucky." He rolled his shoulders in preparation for the upcoming events.
"So, how would you-" His question was cut short when the officer grabbed the masked doctor and made his way down the wall. "That," he paused as he tried to process just what he saw, "may be a problem."

At the call of Anders attacking, Artorigus rushed to the scene just after the patrol left Alistair. "Are you alright sir? What happened?" asked the nobleman. He looked down at the corpses and knelt for a closer inspection, rubbing his chin as he did so. "drat... we've got to notify their families." he said, although his eyes did note one detail that was very odd about this scene. The dead all looked like they'd been cut down by a sword, and yet the dead Anders who's black blood was mixing with the dead humans' red... he didn't have any form of blade on or near his person. The most likely explanation here was that the Commander had cut down the Anders, whilst the Anders companions had cut down the humans... but if that were the case, then why wasn't the Commander himself so much as even scratched? Skilled swordsman or not... He stood up and adjusted his glasses slightly before he looked around the area, the cries of people sounding out throughout the district. "Permission to speak freely sir?" he requested.
If permission was granted, the nobleman would sigh before cleaning his glasses. "The situation's becoming too chaotic down here sir. Our forces are becoming spread far too thin, allowing those whom we haven't caught yet with criminal intent to slip through the net. And then there's the territorial advantage they hold. No doubt they know of every passage in and out of here that we do not... And if more situations like this unfortunate scene happen sir... we could very well find the people of the city turning against us and siding with the enemy in sympathy for them." he said, resting his glasses back on his face, watching Alistair's reactions carefully.
If permission to speak freely was not granted however, Artorigus would keep his mouth shut, salute his commanding officer, pull out a pad of paper from his coat pocket along with a pen, and then begin to take down notes of the deceased so that it would prove easier to locate and notify their next of kin. As well as keep track of who's valuables belonged to whom so that the next of kin would receive them. Valuable property had a slight habit of "disappearing" in situations such as this.

Alistair turned his attention to the brown haired soldier with glasses, though it was far from the kind of attentive stare that Skye would have given. It generally made people want to report and then leave as quickly as they could. Still, this Cadet was speaking to him and asking permission for free speech. It piqued his interest, and he let the soldier speak.
What he heard, however, was less than interest to him, and somewhat annoying. Did this lowly soldier think himself the equal of the High Commander? He would not even tolerate such speech from Andronikos, though the man hated Anders more than he did, so Alistair doubted the topic of withdraw would have come up.
"Let them escape," he said evenly, deciding his anger wasn't worth spending on this person. "We walked in here knowing we would not capture all of them, but the one's we do send a message to the Royalty that the Ander problem is far more than what they were led to believe. Martial Law is just the beginning." Yes, they would all end up in camps in the end. Get them out of Lodan, put them behind fences like animals at the zoo. Clip their wings, and take their magic. What would they do then. The city would then be free of the weight that was holding it from progressing.
"Now, how about you stop bothering me and get back to kicking down doors. Until those wagons are full." Alistair said, dismissing the man and turning back to survey the bodies. He hoped the kid wasn't going to be a problem.

Edelweiss' eyes firstly focused on the soldier who brought Vieka down from the roof. Black hair tied in a half ponytail, tired eyes, calloused fingers. Probably a man who'd seen a lot more than would be healthy, but there he was anyway. The man had tied Vieka, but released the ropes once she was down. Perhaps not a too awful person. It may be a problem... "...Or a solution." she replied to Jasper "He brought her down for us, spared the extra work. Lets watch for now."
Her gaze wandered just a second to fall towards the winged man who had been shot down a moment earlier. His spot on the ground wasn't visible from where she was standing, but there was a different person fallen closeby; that last one had been carrying something, and the redhead clenched her teeth when she noticed what, the fragile tiny figure under the weight of the dead adult. And a lot more people spread ahead. Probably dead as well, or if not, already dying. What had those people been shot down for? Who allowed that? "Who are the true monsters here..." She couldn't help but think.
Next there were two other from EIRAL talking. The first was one of brown hair, fair skin and green eyes framed by thin glasses, looking almost delicate. Almost. He spoke of chaos, of their forces, of sympathy for the enemy. A soldier with both a brain and a heart... a rare combination that was prone to make him suffer later on. Edelweiss took a deep breath and mentally wished him good luck.
The second had dark blue eyes and hair styled almost like of a noble lady, in that blurry tone between a dirty blond or a bleached brown. He spoke of framing Anders for his own massacre, and of filling wagons. Edelweiss suddenly remembered the night when that party gathered to rescue Skye, and Caitlin's sorrow over the ex-Commander's marred face, grieving for never having learned all tiers of healing magic when she had the chance. Back then, the redhead had felt moved by it. She had thought on how would it feel like holding the limp body of someone important and not be able to do enough for them, and had decided that, if possible, she'd also learn some healing magic for herself someday. But now, at the sight of that outrageous little man surrounded by bloodied bodies, she felt her own determination taking a turn opposite from Caitlin's. That man deserved to die. And once the next oportunity arrives, she'd be learning all tiers of Poisons she can afford.
For now though, all she'd be able to do while avoiding open confrontation was stop the man from desecrating those bodies - or their belongings - any longer. Send him a thought fitting for that little mind of his. "They're all dead and there's nothing valuable here, I'm losing my time and my sense of smell."
Vlad watched with clinical interest as The High Commander sliced down the cretins attempting to halt their work. To right EIRAL was to become an enemy of the state, and so he felt nothing but scorn for the rapidly cooling corpses. Where was that blasted spotter? Vlad looked around before moving to his next position, further down the path the Commander was taking. He quickly set up and readied his rifle.
Vlad's sights were trained on the streets, and he was keeping track of everyone moving ahead of EIRAL troops. Vlad shrugged the pack off his back and removed a radio to keep in touch with the forward squad. "Lieutenant Russ reportink. Three witches are havink fled into die alleyways twenty meters ahead of die current path. They are havink several large bags of unknown items."
Eryn made it over to Zona , as her speed worn out she quickly told the orders, " Mama sent me with you , we need to get any more kids that the nasty army men are trying to put to sleep , we gotta get them to safety. , so i go around and get them to you , you take them back to the theater " Eryn then quickly climbed up the building and begain to look for other children who where in trouble ."come lets go!"

Realization dawned on her quickly as she watched the tall male pull out a length of rope. "Oh no your dont- " She yelped, jumping to her feet quickly, she had every intention of making like an exorcist and getting the hell outta there, only, she'd still stuck on the roof, and as soon as she glanced back to see where the edge of the building was the doctor found her hands bound in front of her.
"What the hell do you think your doing- hey! oi oi oi- where are you- ACK!!" Suddenly very off balance and very light weighted, Vieka finds herself with her feet no longer on the ground and instead looped around Kalum like some kind of human koala. "THIS IS NOT OKAY!" She yells alarmed, clung to him as she realizes the madness this crazy arse military fruitcake is about to do. "drat IT BIRD BOY PUT ME DOWN- ACK HANDS HANDS! OFF THE BACKSIDE-!!"
By the time he's shimmying down the side of the wall she's all but yelling every profanity going while clung to him with no intention of letting go, cold sweat made from nothing but the purest of fears about falling to her demise making her mask stick to her face uncomfortably. When they reached the ground, she could have cried from happiness, she could have ripped her mask off and kissed the ground, she could of- well, i think you get the idea.
"Don't ever do that again!" She snarls, pulling her released hands towards her and scampering back a few steps, glaring daggers at the man. "And you owe me another blasted coffee for this! touching up a person is not okay, no matter your reason!"
