Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Open to EIRAL, special invitation to Alistair Malak The anderswelter were still running rampant, and they were doing nothing about it. Other things had been up front and center, of course. The escape of their previous leader, bombings and whispers around Lodan, not to mention the war with Sveden... But with all this, those sickening creatures - the anderswelter - were still scratching at the back of Andronikos' mind. He stood straight in front of the high commander's door, and knocked heavily, waiting not-so-patiently for a response.

Kalum walked down the halls while biting into a peach. On his left forearm rested his bird and in the hand of his left arm he held a second peach. As he turned the corner he spotted Andronikos and lifted a brow. It was none of his business what the man was doing there but as he approached, he paused to bite down into his peach then took the extra from his left hand to offer Andro.
Andronikos turned and noticed Kalum holding the peach to him. He looked the tired looking man over before taking it and grunting in thanks. His teeth sunk into the soft skin of the fruit, and juice ran down his chin before he glanced back at Kalum, a sort of "what do you want?" sort of expression.

The exhausted soldier had every intentions of moving on but decided against it. While he was here it wouldn't hurt to see what Alastair had in mind for him in regards to other assignments and missions and so the tired man turned to lean back against the wall with one leg propped up to rest his foot against the wall as well. In silence he finished of his fruit but at the look he was given he simply shrugged rather than vocalizing any sort of response. He wasn't much of a talker. Never was.
Andronikos wasn't much of a conversationalist and it seemed as if Kalum would not speak to him regardless. The tension that grew in the silence became uncomfortable, so Andro murmured in his low voice - "... What is your opinion of the anderswelter?"

"Andersweltler Huntsman," came his reply. "I -hunted- them." The raven haired man knew the other was expecting more of an answer and so he broke his usual demeanor to offer more information. "They came from their own land because they messed up. Humans aren't perfect, but they came to our lands and brought their shadow monsters with them. Those things plague our world now, sir. In my town one ravaged the country side for almost a week and a half before my squadron was called in to deal with it." He pressed his lips into thin lines as his eyes narrowed at the floor. "We lost two good men before we killed it. That does not include the innocent civilian folk who lost their lives. They use magic to do unspeakable things like raise the dead and that is not natural. They set fires to forests and revel in the chaos they cause. I cannot forgive their kind and why should I?"
Andronikos nodded swiftly in agreement. He couldn't forgive them either - never in a million years. This Kalum was likely to be a great help, he thought. He had a better grasp on the situation than that foolish Lorraine - or even the traitor, Skye. And supposedly, he thought, Alistair had the same opinion as well... Supposedly.
Vladov finally found who he was searching for. The dark and mutilated one. What was his name? The big man, for the life of him, couldn't remember. It didn't matter. He approached the other giant and saluted before speaking. "You are beink die Commandantschampion, ja? I am not believink we haff net. I am lieutenant Vladov Russ. I am haffink heard about your woman. She is beink well, ja?" Vlad figured that was acceptable. He needed to report on his squad's most recent excursions anyways.

Since the conversation was left there without much of a response Kalum did not feel all too inclined to pursue it further. Cara fluttered her wings and hopped off his arm to allow herself to rest on the floor which freed Kalum's arm to fold over his chest with the other. While he waited, the huntsman closed his eyes under the impression he could rest a moment until another voice broke into the hall. Seven hells wasn't it getting crowded in front of the high commander's office. The tired soldier cracked open an eye to peer lazily at the new face then opened both eyes to study Vlad. He certainly did not look like anyone he has seen before. Kalum gave a nod of greeting but that was all.
A red-headed giant, one that Andronikos only recognized from glimpses within the ranks. "'Commandantschampion?'" He murmured in response, "My- w-woman-" His face suddenly started to flush "No that's..." his voice fell in the muffled obscurity as his eyes darted towards the floor. No. He had to restrain from showing anything that might lead others to perceive him as weak. Quickly, he composed himself, and looked this 'Vladov' over. Not a bad soldier, as he had heard. Did he want to talk to him about something?

Vlad nodded his head in greetings to the tired gangly looking one with the oversized parrot before looking at the stuttering man with the scars. "You are die Commandant's champion, und that is beink an honor. Since die Commandant is beink busy, I am reportink to you. Mine squad has finished our sweep of die city limits, und discovered a pair of witches tryink to sneak into die woods. They are sayink somethink about joinink die fight. One was captured for questionink. The other one insisted on fightink, und has gotten what it deserved."

A small smirk spread over Kalum's features as he recognized the embarrassment Andronikos underwent. It was the same sort of embarrassment that Alice always made him undergo whenever she talked to him--rather teased him-- about girls he liked. However, he said nothing on on the matter and listened quietly to the report though it was none of his business to do so. Having nothing to say or do, Kalum returned to closing his eyes and leaning against the wall.
"Your squad has done well." Andronikos replied, forcing the words from between his teeth, "Continue to interrogate the one you captured. Try and find out what 'the fight' they so spoke of meant." His eyes burned with heavy flame "Use whatever means necessary." The fight... No, he shouldn't dwell on it. They would find out soon enough, if, of course, their methods against the prisoner worked.
Vlad actually looked sheepish. Or as sheepish as a man who's face is made of stone can look. "Mine squad has requested that I am not beink present durink die interr... Intur... durink die questionink." The big man still struggled with words that felt so foreign on his tongue. He didn't think he'd ever get used to talking like this. "They are sayink that I am beink too... what is beink die word?" Vlad lifted his hands and punched one into the other with a resounding and meaty thud while he spoke. "They are beink uncomf... uncompf... unhappy with mine methods. They are not beink fond of scimshawink die witches." Vlad held up one of his meaty fingers and started tracing over his palm like he was carving into the flesh. "They are askink that I am not beink there, und I obul... Ahbligg... Und I am agreeink."

The conversation may have rather appalling to any others listening who were not military and could make out the words between Vladov's struggling to pronounce a language that was not native to him, but to Kalum it put him to sleep where he stood. The tired soldier began to slink toward his left away from Andronikos where his eagle rested on the ground and to the bird's dismay she hopped away and squawked loudly, stirring him before he fell. His foot pressed against the wall came down to plant on the floor and he blinked his eues then cleared his throat as he shifted his weight around. The tips of his ears changed considerably red in color as he refused to look up from the floor at the two.
