Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Open to all, special invitation to Edelweiss Fjäril "Full house."
The masked woman practically purred as she laid down her hand for all the rest to see, three aces and two kings, her smug expression hidden but her tone most definitely gave away how she was feeling. The other men around the table groaned as they threw there cards down, a range of expressions on their faces from anger to defeat.
"shoulda bloody folded when i 'ad the chance." One man scowled as he yanked at his hair, and Vieka felt a rather large amount of satisfaction at making a man 3 times her size look so defeated as she leaned back in her chair, one arm hanging off the back casually as she hooked one leg over the other.
"Welcome to the theatre district, where anyone can win." she jeered, very much enjoying this current casino she'd found.

"Impressive." Said the voice just a little ways from the table, before a slim-looking redhead approached. It was nice to see a customer so happy while visitting her District, and admitedly a tad amusing to see a masked lady beat all the men at the cards table; Edelweiss couldn't help but smile at that. "Is there space for another player?"

The masked brunette looked up over her shoulder, dark eyes behind tinted glass looking over at the owner of the voice. She couldn't tell what gender they were right off the bat, male or female, it was all mixed signals. in the end, she supposed it didn't really matter. The poor she lad was going to loose all their money regardless of their genitalia.
Vie hummed, gesturing to one of the free seats as several of the men whispered among themselves and left. Pushing up from her lax position, the doctors attention was drawn to the dealer while the cards were given out before flickering back to her newest victim.
"Your name?" She asked, peeking at her first two cards curiously.

"Edelweiss." She replied simply, still that same calm friendly tone while they received their cards. "And yours?"
She couldn't see the expression on this woman's face, as it was completely covered in that mask. Was she from MI, maybe?... no, probably not, they seemed to only wear those for their covert opperations. Perhaps this woman just liked masks, or was really ugly, or was trying on an experience to give other players the ultimate poker face. Either way it didn't matter, and she had an unique hairstyle enough to recognize on its own.

"Vieka." She responded easily, pushing forward a small stack of chips. "I'll raise 200." she hummed, leaning back and watching everyone else's expressions. so far with only 2 cards revealed, things weren't looking so good, a 7 of spades and a jack of hearts, but she still had 3 more cards to go, and that was only what was in her immediate hand. for the time being, she watched for everyone else's tells before turning her attention to the new commer, very much curious to how easily she'd be able to read her.

Addison calmly dealt out the cards for the next round though his face filled with amusement as Edelweiss sat down. He said nothing, instead turning his attention to the cards and waited to deal out the cards before receiving Vieka's bet. He turned to the remaining men at the table to see which would accept the number and for those to fold before the round made it back toward Edel. "Do you call, or do you fold?"

"Call. I barely sat down afterall." She chuckled in return to the 'casual card dealer' look Addison gave her. Today was an interesting day, alright, and she was in more for the game itself and having fun than for the win. If she does win though, maybe she could play again and raise the bet... it had been a while since last time she did that. About time to take the rust out of her player fingers. 9 and 2 of clubs in her cards. Not all that great, but hey, there were 3 more to come still.
remaining quiet, the brunette eyed her competitors. The bigger lad she'd thrashed earlier kept bouncing his leg, showing his was nervous, the smaller one, the only other male to stay minus the dealer, was still contemplating his cards. Vieka turned to edelw- edelwiee..... hm.... okay, we'll go with peaches for now, she looked all sunshine for personality anyway and that hair was definitely on the brighter side of the spectrum.
She couldn't get much of a read on her though.
Picking up the next card, a 2 of hearts. Still nothing she can work with here.

Edelweiss divided her attention between watching the other players and just eyeing her own cards while waiting for her turn. The man sitting next to her seemed nervous, or anxious, and the other lad sitting on the first man's other side, across from her, seemed to be a watcher type too. But Vieka was by far the most interesting player out of that table; it's not everyday one can see a woman wearing a plague mask under broad workhours (or gaming hours in this case). It was much harder to see an expression of any sort in her due to that.
Third card picked, 9 of spades. It's being a quiet game so far.

Vieka picked up the last of her cards, eyeing the jack and six of spades to go with her jack of hearts, seven of spades and two of hearts. Eyeing the cards, she picked and chose around them, arranging them in her hand as she decided how she should play. The highest she had was one pair, but with 3 spades she could easily cheat and swap out her two hearts to gain a flush. Still, she'd won the last game through slight of hand and was on a winning spree. the last thing she needed to go and do was make herself obvious. Folding this round might be the better option.
"I'll raise another 50." The woman hummed, pushing the chips forward while letting gloved fingers spin the cards in her hand idly. She slouched back lazily before spreading her hand out in a fan and using like said fan, waving it back and forth.
Twitchy man grumbled under his breath before pushing his own stack of chips forward. "I'll call yer on it bird beak." He grumbled roughly, his knee still bouncing. The other still seemed to be pondering his decision so the young brunette turned her attention back to the newcomer at the table.
"Can't say I've been at this casino much so i could be wrong, but you don't seem like the gambling type, peaches." She called over, curious about the others reactions. They seemed rather well put together for someone who would gamble, and while Vie only played because she cheated and it was funny watching grown men weep, this one with sunset hair didn't seem the type. saying that, looks can always be deceiving. Feel free to take control of either of the npc's guys x3

"Well, it's been a while since I last personally played this. But some fun once in a while hurts no one." Edelweiss chuckled and nodded at Vieka's accessment that she didn't look like a gambler. Which didn't mean she forgot how to play, and Vieka would need quite a bit of skill to cheat around her; a Leader of CAEsAL unable to notice game cheaters within her own stabilishments wouldn't be a good leader in the least. Although in all fairness the redhead could recall having been called quite a few different nicknames before, 'Peaches' was a new one. She wondered, was it because of her hair, or did the other woman think she looked 'peachy'? Either way it was amusing, and she took no offense in that. "I hope you'll be returning here some more times, always good to have recurring customers."
Her current cards were set as 9 and 2 of clubs, 9 of spades, 9 of hearts, 2 of diamonds. Oh, she liked her own deck, very much. It wasn't the best that could get, but she could already fold it if she wanted to, or open space for improvement if taking a little risk. And compared to the usual of her work, being a little careless in a cards match was something she could still easily afford. "Raise another 20."
The lad next to 'Mr. LegTwitches' let out a small snort and decided to call as well, but didn't raise the bet. Eyes behind red tinted glasses fixed at his own cards. Didn't talk much, did he. It had been a while since Edelweiss spotted him at a poker table too, but, like she told Vieka, recurring customers were always good.

Addison had long folded the House's hand. He had nothing particularly good and as a master of cards and magic tricks, it wasn't difficult for him to tell when someone cheated and when they didn't--especially when he was the dealer. However, the brunette man was one of entertainment and fond more amusement in letting the woman cheat her way so he may watch the large man beside her struggle. With Edelweiss now at the table, who knew what would come of it. Should he stop her? Oh, no, no, no. He was certain his ever so grand leader was aware as well. Why else would she be here?
The dealer fell silent as he had no cards to raise or call bets but gestured to each individual until the round had been made then he began with the man seated with Vieka to see which cards he would exchange so on and so forth.
'Reoccurring customers huh? that probably means she works here.' The doctor thought to herself as she contemplated on weather she should keep her two jacks or try for a flush. It was hit and miss, but if someone who worked here was taking there free time to casually play some poker, Vie wasn't sure she wanted to risk cheating should throwing away her pair result in nothing.
Folding one leg over the other, the brunette decided to go for it and chucked the jack and two of hearts, choosing to swap them out for something else. Flipping up her two new cards, the young woman reminded herself she was wearing a mask and could afford the sly smile that curled on her lips. "I'll call." She replied neutrally, pushing forward more chips.

The slim lad close to Vieka chucked out a single card, a 3 of hearts, and silently flipped his new card before deciding where to place it on his deck. "I'll call." He said with that same distracted-looking and slightly bored face as before, and placed more chips of his own forward.
The redhead chucked out her pair of twos and flipped her new cards as well, decided to call like the other two and sent her chips forward, and waited to see what the twitchy guy would do. Edelweiss had a small smile on her face while doing that, but then again it was the same carefree small smile she had on since she joined the table.

A small glance at Edel as she called and then a quirked brow and smile at the twitchy man who decided to cut his losses and fold. Such a shame, he wanted to see the man crushed but he supposed he would settle on that brief moment of defeat. With each person, he dealt the cards effortlessly and scooped away the discarded ones with a single sweep before setting them aside in a designated dump pile to be shuffled into the deck next round. With the cards exchanged and the bets once more making their rounds, Addison studied each person carefully before his eyes fell on Edelweiss.
