Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Open to everyone A year had passed since the fires took his family home and his father from him. Viktor, NK-5, and their mother had left Lodan once more during their mourning period though now they were returning to try and rebuild their lives. The skies above were filled with various hues of oranges, pinks, and purples as the sun began to set on the City of Gears. "Don't stay out too late, you hear," came their mother's voice and Viktor stopped his walking to turn and wave at her. "I have Nikolai with me, I'll be fine," he called back with a smile to which the Doll work nodded in confirmation.
"Where are we going, Viktor," asked the robot as they ventured down the beaten path toward the merchant's district. "It's been a year, mate. I want to check out the shop and see if it's all well." NK-5 fell into silence as he walked alongside the mechanic until they reached the redhead's shop. Much to Viktor's surprise, the shop remained untouched though certainly closed. "Do ya think everything is still functionin' in there?"
"Hypothesis, with a year of absence, dust has collected to levels of all time high. Many appliances may need maintenance but should still function properly."
"Your sarcastic dung is gettin' real annoyin' sometimes, Nikolai..." Regardless, Viktor stayed outside simply admiring the building, one hand in pocket while the other held onto the satchel slung over his shoulder.
Amon was making his was back from his personal warehouse, making a few notes on a small note pad. His shipments were right on time, and there were just a few more things he was waiting for before he shut himself inside that building for a while.
"Well...seems like everything is going smoothly..." he noted.
"Security is working properly and the traps are set," noted Abe.
"Final shipments should arrive within the next couple of days," noted Abby.
"Edel has been informed, Danny hasn't made a move..." Amon muttered, jotting down a few more notes. "Excellent. Just gotta get a few more things and-"
Amon stopped as he entered the main street, spotting a familiar figure in the distance.

"So maybe i should have listened when he said not to tinker with it, but how was i meant to know he upgraded the drat thing?" The young doctor grouched to herself, irritation laced loudly in her tone as she desperately tried to force the cogs back into the phone she just got repaired. well, it wasn't so repaired now.
"I mean, it's not just me right? he knows i cant have anything too advanced, and then he goes and tells me not to play with it! It was like he was asking it to happen, right lurch?"
Vieka glanced up, spying the distant figure of her Vulture lazily soaring above through her plague mask, well out of range. She clicked her tongue, annoyed that her own drat bird wouldn't listen to her whine. 'when did he even leave? little bastard...' she thought, slightly miffed as she crammed the broken device back into her bag.
"Well, we're back in the merchants district, someone gotta be able to fix this lump of shite...."

Another boring day. Edgar was really getting tired of those. No one showed up for a haircut so he closed shop early, grabbed some cash, and went wandering around the district. He hoped to find a book cart and find some new reading material; since he’d already checked almost all the libraries.
A familiar face caught his eye; the guild leader Amon who seemed to be talking to some people. Well, today was as good a day as any to meet someone new. The feline ander approached the pair and nodded to Amon before greeting the strangers. “Hello, I haven’t seen your faces around before.”

"You have been staring at the building for a long time now. Suggestion, we commence the cleaning process to restore optimal living conditions."
"Tomorrow. It's been a year and I want to see what has changed in the city, Nikolai."
"I sense magical properties, Viktor."
"Huh?" Viktor's brows drew together as he scanned the streets and spotted the woman entering the district then saw the group she was approaching. A man stood by two others he didn't recognize and was that Amon? Wait, were those two other dolls? Which was the Ander? Was it the man with Amon or the girl approaching them? "Hey, come along, Nikolai. Keep your distance, eh? I know how they give ya a high..."
"I do not suffer recreational situations as you tend to when you inhale the smoke of herbs, Viktor. The response I receive is a simple surge that interrupts the power core's initial line of operation."
"Yeah, yeah, just like with Danny. Less contact and most distance, eh?" As they spoke, they made their way over to the gathering and he offered a wave. "Amon! That you? Heh, it's been awhile, ain't it?" As he closed the distance, he studied Abe and Abby with raised brows then whistled. "Ah, man, haha! You got yourself a pair too, huh? Nikolai isn't goin' to be alone! Are you thrilled?" He turned to look at Nikolai who seemed to be studying Edgar and the approaching woman. "Hey, hey, hey." The red head jumped in to stop the doll soldier from approaching one of the Anders. "Guess that answers that," he murmured to his earlier wonderings of who was the ander then dragged the doll away to stand him on the opposite side of himself. "Amon, do I still have the rights to my shop? Who's that? And that," he nodded toward Veika and Edgar.
Amon grinned. "Yeah, took me some time to make them...along with a few set backs...but I finally got a pair of Dolls for my own. The girl is Abigail, or Abby, and the boy is Abraham, or Abe," he said, introducing the Twins.
"Pleased to meet you," said Abby with a curtsy.
"Likewise," said Abe.
The Twins immediately turned their attention to Nikolai, walking around and studying him.
"An older model...how rare," noted Abby.
"A completely different build...crude, but functional," noted Abe.
"How fascinating...to finally meet our older cousin," said Abby.
"We've heard about and seen your blueprints, NK-5 aka Nikolai," explained Abe.
"Ah, but he has no..." started Abby.
"Yeah, would you guys mind backing off some," demanded Abe.
"Jeez...no need to be rude. They've been interested in meeting him for sometime," explained Amon trying to distance the group a little away from the dolls. "Which reminds me, you'll need to stop by my shop sometime, I need to provide Nik here with a few upgrades; the Twins aren't as affected as Nik here is due to said upgrades. As for the shop, you disappeared for so long, I thought you were never coming back, but you should still have access to it. If you've lost the key, I'm going to have to charge you a small fee for a new key and lock (as well as start making copies of the remaining keys just in case)."
"As for these two," he said, pointing to the two other people. "These are your new guildmates: Vieka and Edgar. Vieka and Edgar, this is Viktor."

Vieka has been minding her own business curing daddy dearest and watching her bird to really pay all that much attention to what was around her, so when she heard her name mentioned her head snapped in the direction of the gathering group. She jerked, looking much like she might turn in the opposite direction and peg it away, before settling back down again and folding her arms, a raised brow hidden beneath her mask.
The half breed gave out a sigh, walking over hesitantly after deciding that running away from her guild leader like a mad man might not leave the best impression, he did help her out after all.
"What do you want?" she muttered scathingly, her attention on them for all but two seconds before it was caught on the mechanical mastery chatting off to the side, where her attention stayed, pretty much ignoring all the others there.

“Viktor and Vieka,” Edgar repeated the names, more to himself than the others. He hadn’t met either of them yet, but they seemed pleasant enough. And meanwhile the dolls seemed to have initiated a sort of playdate with one another; he hadn’t even realized one of them was a doll.
The lady didn’t seem to enthusiastic to be here so Edgar offered his gloved hand to Viktor instead. “Pleasure to meet you.”

Nikolai looked to Viktor for a brief moment as the the other two surrounded him. They were much shorter than he though he had been built for long ago and for a purpose of fighting. They did not seem so.
"Cous...in?" NK-5 watched the two though remained still as he assessed them. "Viktor, I do not understand."
"Cousin. Like they said, you're an older model, they're the newest sort but I imagine their purpose for structure is far different than what father had ya built for."
"Then they are family?"
"In a way, yeah. Hey, why don't you take off that skin and the get up. Show'em what you really look like since I have your new disguise all set and ready."
"It is a pleasure to meet you both as well Abigail and Abraham," NK-5 responded to the two as he began the process of tearing the flesh from his mechanical structure and discarding the clothing that covered the majority of his metal work. Beneath the clothing and skin, he was durably built and the blade attached to his hip hung on the side where the panel did not protect.
"This is pretty cool," Viktor grinned at Amon. "Nikolai hasn't met anyone like him before so this is going to be fun watching him interact since Abby and Abe had each other. Upgrades? You'd really do that? Haha! Amon, you're the best. I can do that tomorrow then. I'll send him across the street to you while I work on the upgrades for his disguise--oh. How about a trade then. Did you want me to fix up Abby and Abigail with some disguises as well? I learned a few tricks while I was away. Sorry I have been away. With the... With," he frowns.
"With the expiration of our father, mother felt it best for us to live with relatives outside of the country," NK-5 finished as continued to study the other two dolls.
"Yeah, but we're back now. I still got my key so you won't need to worry about replacements." He turned his attention now to the other two as they were introduced and he grinned at the two. Stepping up to Edgar, he slapped his own hand into the other's then shook it with enthusiasm. "How are ya, mate? Looking good. Like he said, name's Viktor. Vehicular mechanical engineer of Mingo's though it's been awhile. What do you do?" After his introduction to Edgar, he turned his attention to Veika and offered his hand to her next. "Nice to meet you as well, Veika. That's a sweet looking mask. Are you a doc?"
"...My condolences..." replied Amon. "Unfortunately, I'm going to rather busy for sometime, so you'll have to settle for a prototype...I'll actually be working on the finishing touches for the actual model. As for the trade...I appreciate the offer, but..."
"We require no real disguises, though we can see why you would need it," replied Abby, observing the Nikolai taking off his disguise.
"As fascinating as it is, we are satisfied with our appearance," added Abe.
"Like they said. And I'm just trying to introduce you to your other guildmates Vie..." Amon sighed.

She was still staring at the clockwork dolls when the wittering stopped, and it took a moment for her head to clock that they were actually talking to her. She blinked, turning her face to looking at the one holding his hand out to her, eyeing the palm with distaste before taking in the rest of his appearance, her head slightly cocked to one side and her arms remaining folded.
'What had he blathered on about? dolls dolls.... uh... mask? aaand... hm'
"They talk too much." She decided to answer, her comment aimed more at amon since his was the only thing she actually heard entirely before her attention was drawn to the clockwork wonders again, fascinated by the faux skin.

Edgar chuckled lightly, and how he managed to do that without smiling was anyone’s guess. “I run a simple barbershop, nothing fancy or glamorous,” he answered the man before releasing his hand.
Glancing sideways at the woman labeled as Vieka, he raised an eyebrow. “Talk too much? I suppose that’s true. But I’ve found that there’s a lot you can learn by simply listening.” Like how the clockwork dolls interacted with each other, how the older models had faux skin, and how Viktor had been out of town because his father died. Yes, there was always a lot to learn from just sitting back without a word.

Viktor grimaced lightly as he closed his fingers and withdrew his hand. "Oooh, it suddenly got cold in this area of the district," he teased lightly then stepped away from Vieka and flashed a grin at both Edgar and Amon. "Hey, don't be sorry, Amon. Things happen and it's been a year. I've had time to get over it though I miss him." His attention passed back over Abbey and Abe and he shrugged. "Guess they don't need it 'cause they aren't, well, uh," he gestures to NK-5 who remained standing stoic and naked.
"Killing machines," replied NK-5. "Though my purpose is not as such. My purpose is only to protect and I can do such without the necessity of taking a life."
"Yeah, yeah," Viktor sighed exasperatedly as he turned to Edgar. "You think you can give me a bit of a trim tomorrow? The year's made my hair a bit long." He passed a glance over Vieka then to Amon. Much to his dismay, NK-5 moved away from Abbey and Abe to stand before Vieka and Edgar to study them. "Just don't touch, Nikolai," Viktor warned and obediently the doll did not move any closer. "Amon, you think you can check out why he's so drawn to Anders? He had this problem ever since Danny touched that first night."
Amon didn't exactly know how to respond to Viktor and Nikolai's implication...the quick glances from the Twins didn't help. Just play it off then.
"Well...I don't know about Nikolai's attraction to magic beings but...if you are somehow successful at building something around said magic beings, there's a chance, (again, if you're successful) it will have a slight magic resistance. It's difficult to do, and pretty much next to impossible if you haven't figured out how to do it," he explained.
"As for them being talkative Vie...can you blame them? They just met another Doll that's not built by me, of course they'd be excited if they were capable of emotions," he replied with a small smile.

Vie sighed, her eyes still distracted but at least she was listening to what they had to say. she certainly wasn't impressed by the smartarse Edgar was being. "I wasn't referring to your mechanical dolls Boss, i was talking about my 'guild mates'." She stated dryly, her eyes now drawn to the older model standing before them.
The half breed chewed her lip, holding her chin as she gazed at him before walking around NK-5, her hands moving to hold themselves behind her back so she restrained herself from touching. The last thing she needed was break someone else's genius. Her eyes flickered from the model in front of her to Amon's dolls.
"This is... an older model correct? You are very different from Amon's creations..." She mumbled, partly to herself, partly to Nikolai.
