Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Levi awoke to the light glow of moonlight penetrating the glass of the ship's cabin, and to a very-unclothed Caitlin nuzzled up into his chest as if she buried herself into him. His hand is on top of her hip, with the sheet separating the skin as he strokes her side softly. He smiles softly, an un-natural smile if she was to see him, it was warm, as if he has the world in his hands and he must protect it. He lowers his head just slightly, ever so slowly to place his lips on the crown of her head, his hair against his lips as he softly kisses her head. Her chest raises and falls over and over in the same pattern, a slow, calm pace to it. He lays his head backdown on his arm and stretches a bit in the bed. The night was a fun one, that was for sure. He finally got what he wanted, and who knows? Maybe she did too.

Caitlin felt the flush of warmth that danced up and down her side as Levi gently stroked it. The fabric of the sheet protected her body from full exposure and so she felt comfortable soaking it in for a few moments more. When she finally did open her eyes, she used her hands to hug the cloth closer to her chest and looks up into his eyes. What she saw there was everything. Absolutely everything, and that moment, it was indescribable.
"Close your eyes," she whispered with a soft smile. When he did, she slipped from the bed and quickly tugged on a nightgown. Something silky, like the sheets. "Don't say anything, not yet," she whispered, sweeping her hair back over her shoulder and sliding back into the bed. She didn't want to ruin the mood, but she couldn't bring herself to stay unclothed either. Her nerves would have wrecked her, so this seemed like the best solution. Once she was snuggled back up to him she added, "Ok now- no wait," she kissed him again. "ok now for real this time,"
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
Caitlin's soft little love kiss was just what Levi needed to make this great morning into something better. He lays his free arm across from her and pulls her into him. He kisses the top of her head again, and speaks slowly and a soft, warm tone. "Was it everything you thought, Kitten? I told you I'd take care of you." He softly smiles and kisses the top of her head again. Yeah, the date was late, but it was surely great.
He positions his leg so the foot of his left rests on the knee of his right, causing the bed sheet to raise over his knee. He smiles and plays with her hair with his right hand, running his fingers through it, but most of the time consists of light scratching of her head, just barely grazing it with his fingernails.

That was a difficult question to answer. the truth is she never allowed herself to think of it. The 'blushing bride' syndrome would set in and she'd just draw a blank and burn with embarrassment. like she was doing now. He played with her hair as he waited for an answer, probably taking in the range of colors rising on her neck and face. She had never seen him like this before. She liked it, and wondered how long it would last. Would he forget about her after they left this room? Would he find someone new to chase after? She reached for his free hand and laced her fingers through it. The act of holding on, just to his hand, made her stop thinking so far ahead. If he did go after someone else, she wanted this moment to have been worth it, so she couldn't afford to waste it.
"You did, and it was... more... than I ever thought." Again her face flushed, just admitting it out loud. Caitlin cleared her throat and tried to steer the conversation toward safer, more pg topics. "Funny, waking up at moon rise and not sun rise."
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. He can practically feel the heat radiating from her cheeks, and he just smiles as his chest rises and falls quickly with silent chuckles. He keeps up his handy work with her hair as she threads her fingers into his, with his palm embracing hers in a gentle agreement. He beings to speak. "Well that's good, can't believe it took you this long. You're such a loser, ya know....even more so because you don't wake up to the moonlight. It's beautiful, it really is, it's not the best though... Not when compared to you." His cheeks hurt, because being cheezy hurt, but he thought it was the right thing to do, so all he has to do now is keep from laughing. "All our dates have skipped the dating part, ya know. Besides when are you ever going to make us official? It's not like the whole city of Lodan doesn't know." This time, his laugh escapes in a small snicker, oh he thought of himself SO wise! "I mean, I don't mind them knowing. I've got to let the world know your my gal." As he speaks his body sends him into a stretch, with both hands above his head before he can return them to their normal duties, and yes, he did not release Caitlin's hand as he flexed out.

She propped herself up on her elbow and stared at him. "You, the infamous skirt-chasing rogue Levi Kuper, want the whole city to know you've got a girl?" She didn't know which would be harder to believe: That he was in a committed relationship, or that the baroness was the one in the relationship with him? She grinned at the absolute insanity of it. But she'd spent the better part of a year ignoring the urge to admit it was or at least should be the truth... and that hadn't made it go away.
"Imagine meeting my father and telling him that," She laughed.

Levi smiles at her with a smile that has the look of you didn't just say that, did you? but of course, she did. He looks around the bed for a second before searching with his hand on the sheets, he stops and looks across the cabin to find the clock on the wall. "Sure, when do we meet him? I mean, at least I'm famous in some way, he's gotta appreciate that. I went from a lowly street-rogue to a lowly street-rogue who sleeps with the baroness! That's a lot of improvement I'd say!" He chuckles and pushes her shoulder playfully, before stealing a brief glance of the most amazing eye's he's ever seen. He leans close to her, close enough that all he has to do is whisper. "Do you want to her a secret, baroness?"
Levi kisses her cheek. "Do ya?"
And he kisses her neck, next, before laying back down. He shrugs softly as he says it, and a genuine smile is on his face too.
"As a man who's not quite sure about love, I think I'm head over heels in it."

The shock on her face was plain to see. She hadn't been serious, but he was. She didn't expect him to mean it, but he really sounded like he did. Caitlin's apprehensiveness was too real. He was going to soften her heart into whisps of clouds and then he was going to break it. He leaned in and whispered, placed a kiss on her check and neck before laying back. The smile on his face completely melted her and she wanted to cry. Were they happy tears? or fear, because she knew she couldn't stop herself from feeling this way.
Still she hadn't moved.
"As a man who's not quite sure about love, I think I'm head over heels in it."
Caitlin stayed motionless another second, taking in the dimples made by his smile, the openness in his eyes, and the tone of his voice.... Then she leaped backwards out of the bed, hugging herself.
Her eyes teared up and she bit down on her lip. "Don't do this to me Levi, please.... I can't protect myself from you anymore..."

Is she gonna explode? is the main thought running through his head, along with So complicated, jeesh, calm down, you're gonna be okay, what are you doing? And as she runs off out of the bed to hold herself, he rolls over so he's face down in the pillow. He listens to her worries before moaning into the downy, and speaks. "Do that I paid since Daytwon, dont work a boat me, lemon protract yah." is what made it out of the muffled sound of the pillows, so he positions himself so his chin is resting on the pillow and reiterates himself. 'Do what I said to do since day one, don't worry about me hurting you, let me protect you." His eyes cross a bit as he looks up at the lock of hair in his face as he blows it out of the way. "Besides, aren't we over this, AHEM.." He puts on his best Caitlin voice. "Ohhhhhhh, LEVI! You're gonna BREAK meeee..." He's not mocking Caity, not one bit!...but he totally is! He smiles and lays his face flat on the pillow so he can kinda-sorta see Caitlin. "Now come back here, darling, and spend the mornin...er, well, night, with me! Youre one day to be husband, if you can ever get that in your head, I suppose."

He couldn't be serious, was he teasing? no he was serious... ok that part was a tease...
Caitlin rubbed her arm and chewed on her lip for a moment as she stared out the window. Her eyes were still wet, but she resisted the urge to wipe them or sniffle or anything that would give away how close she came to crying. She was not a young girl, she should be able to handle this better than that. Queens, he would want to leave if she didn't grow up or something. Caitlin climbed back onto the bed, sitting on her knees and pushed lightly on Levi's shoulder so she could flip him over and look at him.
"You've never wanted to be my husband," she tried to tell him, maybe he'd remember and agree. or maybe not. She brushed his hair out of his face and let her hand linger near his jaw. "I remember the day I met you, I thought you'd forgotten... except for the scar, we couldn't forget that." she meant the one on her thigh from where he cut her during his trial. She'd wanted to fight him herself, and she had. It was exhilarating. He was exhilarating. She smiled at the memory.

Levi rolls over, for the most part as only the upper half of his body turns fully around, his back on the soft sheets, his arms out at his sides, with a right angle in them at the bows, the back of his hands joining his back for a rest on the sheets. His hair falls slightly over his eyes, but he doesnt bother to fix it. His face glows in the night light, the metal twinkles, and his eyes are deep. He shrugs. "I can remember the first day too, and I can sure as hell say I didn't want to be your husband. As it turns out though, stay around someone long enough, find their quarks and deal with the pain in your arse they give you on the daily, you might just grow an affection with them. One that makes you want to be her husband. But you know, you still don't believe me, and I ain't too sure how to prove it." He reaches out a hand in offer, to pull her down onto his chest, to hold her and let her know he's there, and he cares.
The door then swung open to reveal a certain quaff of blue hair buried under some paperwork, the owner of the hair clearly not having seen anything in the room. "Hey Baroness, you in 'ere?" called out Ikuze amidst the sound of shuffling papers. "Not entirely sure what the hell's going on with these papers... either the city's trying to levy more tax on the docked ships, or trying to increase the costs on goods storages... either way the numbers are waaaay bigger than they were last time and I can't make heads nor tails of all this legal dung." she said as she put them down on a nearby table before looking in the direction of the two very naked people in the very messy bed.
The blue haired girl blinked for a moment. "Speaking of big messes... and I ain't referring to between your legs kitty." she quipped before grumbling and sighing. "Could you at least put up a sign or somethin' next time? Pretty sure I asked this the last time I walked in on you two having a moment with each other." the second in command of the Brotherhood said before she muttered to herself as she left them to their business. "Oh, and if'n you two were planning on staying in there all day, probably a good idea on your part M'lady. Daddy dearest was spotted trawling the docks earlier. I've got Debbie tailin' him to make sure he don't get into any bother he wasn't planning on." said the thief as she left the room.

"I'm not..." She pushed herself guiltily away from Levi and jumped out of the bed - her nightgown twisting around her calves and nearly tripping her. Too late, of course, she's already been caught. Ikuze gave her the news about daddy, and she frowned. That was trouble. "Ok, thanks for the information, I'll find out what he wants with me, so he'll stop hanging around here." The thief left the room and Cait glanced at the papers. Taxes were a pain in the arse, but they paid them with stolen funds so she couldn't really complain. Her eyes drifted over to Levi.

Levi's body never left the seductive, relaxed pose of 'come and get me', even when Ikuze walked in the door. He's been walked in on before, and considering she's been the culprit before, he's more than used to it. He just watches her as she blabs about paperwork and hopes that she'll shut her jammer and leave. Which she does, surprisingly. He looks back over to Caitlin who was now standing again, the worried look on her face. "About your father?" He asks, in hope she'll continue her sentence.

"Yes... about him... I think that maybe coming right out and meeting him right now might be a, um bad idea." She eyed the way Levi was comfortably lounging in her bed. He had remained unclothed. "I'll get dressed... properly dressed, and go down to get rid of him. Whatever her wants, him being on the docks is never a good idea." She stared at Levi a moment more, not sure if he'd sit quietly and just wait like a hand maid, or if he'd insist on coming along. Weird emotions warred in her chest now that she had a second to stop and just. be.
She loved him. And he knew. and they... had... that.
and he wanted to keep her, and she had never dreamed that would actually come true. now that it was... what was she going to do about it?
