Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Stepping into the main foyer, Artorigus looked around at the establishment with a slight frown. "Thought it'd be... busier." he mused to himself before shrugging and heading for the main desk. The reception officer glanced up at him before returning to her paperwork. "Can I help you sir?" she asked. The man put over a piece of paper with the details required. "I believe this is the recruitment form yes? I've filled it out with the necessary details." The clerk sighed before collecting it, giving it a quick skim over before blinking and reading through it far more thoroughly. "...This... this says you're..." she stammered.
Artorigus chuckled before nodding. "Yes, I am Artorigus Pendrake, son of Duke Utharan Pendrake in the northern territories. And yes I am here willingly of my own accord." he said, sighing as she stood upright faster than a cracking whip and saluted him. "Please don't do that... don't you have to file that somewhere or something?" he asked, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Sorry my lord, I'll get on that right away... would you like something whilst you wait sir?" she asked, albeit nervously. Artorigus waved it off. "I'm fine thank you. And please, no rush." he said, before choosing a seat to wait in. The clerk quickly set about her paperwork as well as signalling for the highest ranking officer available to come down quick sharp.

Another day of chores meant another day without training. Today her work kept her within the walls of the Barracks, at least. No need to face the scary faces of the public. Gladys entered the main foyer, clad in her uniform, and carrying a dozen or so long swords in her arms. They were only practice blades, so they were overly dull, but they still dug into her arms as she struggled to carry them. A group of brothers and their friends had “forgotten” to leave the blades at the practice area, instead abandoning them in a messy heap outside the cafeteria. And who was called to return them to their proper place? Gladys of course.
Taking quick, but calculated steps, she nodded to the receptionist, who was very flustered for some reason. Going through the foyer was the quickest way, the receptionist knew that, and yet she waved a hand as if to dismiss Gladys. But the new recruit wouldn’t be detoured. She kept walking, making it nearly to the other side of the room, when she glanced over to see a handsome young man waiting to be seen. Her lapse in concentration was enough to cause her to trip, all the swords clattering to the floor. Warmth quickly came to her cheeks as she realized what has happened, and then quickly scrambled to pick them all up. Just her luck, it seemed.

As he waited, he saw one of the recruits come through carrying an awful lot of practice blades... with the inevitable result. "Are you alright miss?" Atorigus asked as he went over to help her collect them. Once they had all been collected, he began to arrange the blades in alternating patterns so that there were six hilts on the left, and six on the right. "Should balance it out more for you, less chance of hurting yourself as well. Ideally you'd want a wrap of cloth or leather between yourself and the blades... here." he said, removing his jacket and offering it to use as a wrap around for the swords. "This should do the trick for now." The receptionist looked as though she were about to have an ulcer or seizure, or both.
In a way she was glad that he came over to help her, it let her get a good look at his face, but then she wasn’t glad because he could get a good look at hers, and in specific, how tomato red it was. Swallowing her embarrassment, she tried to fell with the swords as soon as she possibly could, but he stopped her, rearranging them, and then going so far as to use his jacket for the blades. He was a nice man, Gladys liked him already.
“Um, thank you,” she struggled to say to him. “I’ll bring back the coat.” She turned to leave then, not looking at anywhere except the floor.

"That was supposed to be done an hour ago, Hayden." Andronikos entered from the training field door, beads of sweat crawling down his brow. His words ran through apathetic lips, but his previously dull eyes glimmered for a split second as they fell upon the sensible stranger standing in front of a flustered receptionist before the clouds covered his irises again. The jacket of his uniform, which had previously been hanging on one of his bare shoulders, swung slightly as he replaced his arms into it's sleeves and clasped its front. With footsteps that thumped heavily against the tile below, he walked to the woman at the desk and snatched the papers from her grip. After a scan of the contents he shoved them back onto the desk haphazardly and growled "New recruit?" as his brown eyes glared down at the bespectacled man.

Artorigus gave the recruit a comforting smile and nodded. "Your welcome, and no rush." he said before another person appeared, one that looked like they'd just been through quite the workout regimen. He winced a little as he forcibly took the papers from the poor receptionist after giving the girl, Hayden he mentally took note the name for, a reprimand concerning the swords. When the officer turned his gaze onto him, he snapped to attention as best he could recall from seeing his house guards do whenever the position was required. "Yes sir. Artorigus Pendrake sir, here to do my duty to the Queen sir." he replied.
"Follow me-" Andronikos said, turning away and looking back once before adding, "miss." as he looked straight towards Pendrake, then began his ascent up the stairs towards where the offices were. Artorigus Pendrake. The name had reached Andronikos' ears before, he knew that for sure... But where from?

Artorigus sighed. "I'm a sir, sir." he said before following the man up the stairs. Well, was bound to happen eventually. Again. It was the one thing that he disliked about his appearance was that he got most of his looks from his mother. But it couldn't be helped.
"Tch, miss." He reached the office, which was vacant at the moment, so he thought he may as well use it. "Peach?" He asked, though his glare was that of death, as he held out a fruit towards the new recruit.

He raised an eyebrow as the officer once more got his gender incorrect. What is he playing at? Is he trying to gauge my anger levels, seeing how much poking I can take? He gave a little snort at the thought. That must be it... the only other conclusion is that he's a moron. When the offer of the peach came, he politely shook his head. "No thank you sir."

Down to the heart of the matter. Was wondering when he'd get around to it. he thought to himself. "Equal parts wanting to help sir, and equal parts gaining experience." said Artorigus, deciding that now would be a good time to test the man himself. "My father is getting on in his years and since I'm his first born son and heir, I thought it only fitting to get to grips with how the system of the law works from the ground up, so that when I'm Duke I can ensure that there are no discrepencies nor any false judgements within my jurisdiction." he explained, allowing that to sink in for a moment. "And given recent events here in Lodan sir, I felt obligated to help ensure that the peace between humans and Anderswellters was maintained."
Realization hit Andronikos in the back of the head for a split second. So that's where he had heard the name before. One of the Dukes. Great. Just great. "Tch." He paused "Don't think you'll get any special treatment here, princess. Try not to get your pretty pampered little face hurt. " Andro grumbled, his eyes livid, in probably what was the longest thing he's said of his own free will.

Artorigus chuckled at the man's request. "Ironic sir, as I was about to ask the very same thing. I have no intention of abusing my station for special privelages within the EIRAL's." he said, a slight smirk crossing his features. He could tell that this officer was going to be... interesting to work under. "As much as formality persuades me to refer to you as sir all the time sir, I think for reports and such it would be prudent to know the name of my superior officer." he suggested. The man already knew his, it was only fair.
