Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Open to Gladys Hayden Clancy needed a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. After a hectic week, he thought it would be nice to walk around the forest and clear his mind. He was currently leaning against a tree, eating a sandwich that he packed for himself. He lazily watched some birds flit around the tree tops, thoughtfully digesting his food as he hummed any random song that came to mind.

Gladys seemed to be getting all of the grunt work from the guards, and by grunt work, she meant work that was overly easy and only required someone to physically go somewhere to complete it. She didn’t mind the jobs, after all, someone had to do it, but she would have liked to get at least a little bit of training…
Getting those thoughts out of her head, she looked at the crudely drawn picture in her hand again. Someone had lost a rather large object, an automobile to be exact, somewhere in the outskirts of town. The story goes that he was driving around, bottle of whiskey in hand, hit something, got out of the car, and then wandered back to town. And now he wants the car back and is paying the guards to go find it.
Turing around another bend, she jumped a little upon seeing someone leaning on a tree. She was going to turn around and walk the other way, but she was sure he had seen her. No going back now. Walking towards him, she kept her eyes down and called out, “Um, hello? Do you know this area well?” Hopefully he would say no and let her be on her way. She readjusted her guards’ uniform as she waited for him to answer.

Clancy glanced up from his sandwich to see a lady EIRAL addressing him. "Hi! Ah kinda know these woods, better then tha average person, ah suppose. Who're ya? Mah name's Clancy Fuchs! Nice ta meetcha! I'm a Mingo, I'm guessin' yer one of tha Queen's guards? Ah ain't really know too many guards. Are ya lookin' fer somethin' out 'ere?" As he chartered away he stood up and began to pack away the rest of his food in a small basket.

“Oh uh,” she stumbled, trying to keep up with his rapid voice. So he was a talker, that was better than being a creepy dude. She struggled to keep up with what he said, but managed. “I’m Gladys, Gladys Hayden. I am a guard with the Royal army, and I’m trying to find something that’s someone lost out here. Have you seen any, uh, cars?” she held the roughly drawn sketch up for him to see. She was getting lost walking in circles here, maybe this guy could help.

"Nice ta meetchya Gladys! Can ah call ya Gladdy? Or would ya prefer not?" Squinting at the drawing, he chewed his lip in though. "Uhhh, would it be rammed into ah tree by any chance?"

“That’s fine, and yes! You’ve seen it?” she asked, getting visibly excited. Maybe she wouldn’t be lost in the forest all day after all. She began to grin, but quickly tried to hide it. She was supposed to be cool, calm, collected, all those things. But it got hard sometimes.

Clancy smiled, catching the excited smile on her face that she failed to hide. "Yeah, Ah think ah saw it on MA way here. Whatxha gonna go with it? Return it to tha poor guy or gal who wrecked it? I don' think I've ever driven ah car before. How 'bout ya?"

“That’s the plan, if I can even move it. And no I have not, they seem rather difficult to operate.” She took the picture back from him and stuffed it in her pocket, calming her facial muscles as she did so. “Which direction is the automobile in?” she asked after a moment, trying to put her stern guard expression back on.

"Aw, you should smile more. Ya got a pretty smile," he commented before turning and walking towards where the car was. "It's over 'ere. Come on!" He walked casually, swinging his basket as he moved. "Ah like tha woods. Even tho MA friends go hurt here ah while back. Poor Z got 'er leg scratched up an' then Iaco was all mad 'bout stuff. Do ya got any friends? Wait, course ya do, yer ah nice girl."

She bit her lip as the mention of smiling came back. That was sweet of him to say, but Andronikos had been stern in saying that smiling was frowned upon. She followed him through the woods, but tripped a little when he mentioned friends. “I uh, recently came to the city actually. I don’t know many people, and the ones I do know I wouldn’t call friends,” she answered, feeling like she could be honest out here, away from the city.

Clancy stopped in his tracks then turned to look at her in aghast. "Wait ah minute, ya don' have any friends? None??" The man looked as if he'd been attacked by a shadow monster rather then participating in small talk. "Well that won't do. Yer ma official friend now, Gladdy. Ya can visit me any time in that Merchant's district. Ah own tha gun shop there. Ah knows we'll be tha bestest pals," he gave her a genuine smile with a sparkle in his eyes.

She felt color rise to her cheeks as he stopped to say what he had. Where friends really that important to the guy? Well, that was nice of him in the least. “I um, thank you,” she said shyly, eyes on the ground, and a small smile on her face. She’d have to stop by his shop some time. Maybe the EIRAL needed some new guns, or something…

Clancy flashed her another smile before starting up again. "What's it like bein' ah EIRAL? Is it tough? Ah would think it's be difficult wit all tha trainin' y'a go through," as he chatted he kicked a pebble around, slowing down so that they walked side by side.

She began walking next to the odd man and thought about his question. “Well I haven’t actually done any training yet…” her voice trailed off. “They said I’m not ready for that kind of stuff. So I’ve just been doing lots of errand work. Checking to see if houses are abandoned, sharpening weapons, finding this car, y’know. Grunt work.” She continued to look at the ground as she talked, realizing that she sounded kind of sad as she talked. “But it’s okay! I’m just happy they let me join,” she added, brightening up them.

Clancy listened as he walked, raising his eyebrows some. "Really? They ain't trained ya yet? Well ah hope they git to it soon cause I'm sure ya'd make ah fine officer. I'm glad yer happy to be in their ranks though. Why didja wanna become an EIRAL?" He was curious to hear her answer. It was always interesting to find out why people joined the guilds they did, expecially the more dangerous ones like EIRALs and that assassin guild. He stopped for a second and looked around to make sure they were still heading in the right direction. Nodding he pointed up ahead, "It ain't too far now, ah believe."
