Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
Special invitation to Lasair, otherwise open to all Andronikos took a swig of the bottle he held in his armored fist. He was on duty. Technically, he shouldn't be drinking, especially on the job, but they had sent him out to the outskirts, for what reason, he didn't know. The sun was slowly fading into a orange haze behind the tangles of thorny tendrils in the not so distant-distance, but it was just bright enough that Andro found himself bringing his hand up to shield his eyes from that direction. His orders were simple: Patrol the area, capture anybody who might be suspicious, and do not, under any circumstances, any at all, enter the infamous vineyard. And of course, he wasn't so thick that he hadn't heard the stories and rumors of the insanity it brought - murders, lust, and even cases of the victim never returning home- but he doubted that they were exactly as he had heard them. They were probably small instances, blown out of proportion as they had been spread. Boredom set in in no time, and he found himself taking yet another swig of liquor, but he couldn't help but glance once again at the vineyard to his right as the sun sank deeper into the abyss of night as navy crawled it's way across the sky. Andronikos lit his lantern, and lifted it up eye level, glancing behind him once before migrating closer to the cluster of vines. He wouldn't go in, he'd just take a look-see. Just a look.

“What a lovely night,” Lasair said to himself, snapping his fingers every now and then and watching the fire burn for a moment. He froze when he spotted a lantern light up not too far from him. “Now whoever could be out here this late?” he asked the air around him. He began walking over to the light silently, slowly making out the man holding it. Lasair recognized the uniform and debated a moment about whether or not to approach him.
Approaching him sounded like more fun, especially with that bottle of liquor in his hand. Taking a step into the lantern light, Lasair cleared his throat. “Why hello sir. Whatever are you doing out here at this hour?” he asked in his most polite and charming voice.
As the voice hit his hears, Andronikos snapped around, ready, in a split second, to take on whoever it was that now confronted him, his jaw tensed and his dark eyes on fire. Approaching him seemed to be a man of average stature, with bright hair of flame, but his face could not be made out in the shadowy haze. "Who are you? Show yourself! Speak!" the guard ordered, barked, even, in a frantic attempt to identify the individual.

“I’m just a man out for a night stroll,” Lasair began and took a half step towards the man. “There’s usually no one out here this hour, so I was wondering if perhaps you were lost and needed help.” Lasair smiled gently at the man, ignoring the fact he was wearing a guards’ uniform. He would pretend he had no idea who the man was. It would make his answer all the more interesting.

“Lasair Landevier Lupen, at your service,” he said with his usual bow. “And if I may add, you seem to be rather stressed. Relax a bit,” he spoke with his usual smooth voice as he regarded the man. Doing his best to appear unthreatening, he stood there and smiled.
Andronikos spat at the newcomer's feet, his eyes portraying a livid loathing. "You had better leave. If you know what's good for you." He was in no mood to deal with such a person or their antics. Relax? That's exactly what someone who wanted to hide something suspicious would say.

“I could say the same to you. How often have you been through these parts?” Lasair asked with a grin, not even batting an eye at the glob of spit that passed between them. “I know my way around here quite well, and this is the first night I’ve seen you here. If I didn’t know any better, I would say you didn’t know about the creature that lurks here at night.” He spoke that last part with a casual shake of the head and a tight smile.
"Creatre?" He hissed, though mostly to his own person as opposed to the man in front of him. What creature? He hadn't been informed of this when they briefed him!

“See, I knew you weren’t from around her.” Lasair shook a finger at him and then shrugged. “But if you want me to leave so badly I can. If you can run fast enough you should be fine. Yeah…should.” He took a few steps around the ring of lantern light and continued to smile. “Unless you’d rather me stay and keep you company.”
"Tell me more about this 'creature' you speak of!" Andronikos ordered, flushing in frustration. He didn't like the look of the guy, but he needed to know what he was talking about, and the only person that could tell him about it at the moment was this firey-headed jester. Why didn't they go over this while briefing the assignment!?

“Now’s not a good time to. You see, there’s a rumor going around that if you start talking about the monster while in or near the vineyard, well, they say it’ll appear. That’s why I haven’t said anything about it. Not even its name. If you do want to hear about it, I know a place not too far from here where we can chat.” Lasair smiled the entire time he spoke, having a complete blast with this man. And he wasn’t completely making up the ‘monster’ he was talking about, he was just making it sound more dramatic.
"Tch" Andronikos said and turned back, ignoring Lasair in the hopes that he would go away, but he felt a chilling tingle run down the nape of his neck as the thought of whatever monster might be out there that persisted in the back of his mind. If, for some unknown reason, it would show itself, he would be able to take it... Wouldn't he?

Waiting a few moments, Lasair concluded that the man needed the time to think about his answer. “I didn’t hear you say no,” Lasair coaxed. “The place really is just a short walk from here. We can come right back if you like.”
