Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Silence rang throughout the shop as the door paused in between small sways on its hinges, the still air adjourned only by the ticking of the clock on the wall. Iacomus stood, aghast at such a reaction, his eyebrows raised and yellow raccoon eyes wide, before he broke out into a grin once again. "Well then, I guess we know now if she liked her gift or not." With a chuckle he bent down and scooped up the box and the watch, feeling a twinge of guilt in his stomach, as she was obviously mortified by the gift... But at the same time, it did amused him quite a bit. She didn't like clocks then? Now that was interesting. "I should probably go and try to fetch her back again." Iacomus said to himself with yet another giggle as he set the box down on the counter and swung his winter coat around himself, wrapping his scarf around his neck before walking outside. There, he glanced quickly to each side, and barely saw a flowing hood as it sped away. With a tip of his top-hat, he followed in that direction, taking long, quick strides in an attempt to catch up to the girl.
She wouldn’t stop running until the ticking did. She wasn’t even watching where she was going, relying on instinct instead. She bumped into a few people in her blind run, but all she heard was the constant ticking.
This had happened before, and Max knew it. Any time she encountered a clock at close range, this happened. She’d run. She didn’t know why, but something would just take control of her. She had to get as far away from the ticking as possible, no matter the cost.
Suddenly, she noticed the smell of baked goods. A bakery was coming up to her left. She slowed her pace to a walk and then outright stopped in front of the bakery, taking a deep breath of the sweet goodness in the air. The ticking stopped. So, she stayed standing there, catching her breath and forcing herself to forget what has just happened, as she had done every time before.

"Max! Dear Max! Do wait up!" The wind threatened to tear Iacomus' hat from his curly head as he walked up next to the girl. "I do apologize for any disturbance I may have caused." through this apology, however, a grin still graced his face, making his sincerity seem not so much. He probably was not, anyway. This was too funny.
Max looked at up at him, her face a blank expression. Not her usual bored and annoyed face, but a face that was truly blank of any feeling.
And then something clicked and she shook her head, remembering who Iaco was and an inkling as to what happened. “Forget about it,” she said plainly and looked back to the stop.

"Oh, of course, dear Max." He smiled at her, but a glint in his eyes portrayed that he would not, indeed, 'forget about it'. Shaking his head, he motioned toward the bakery. "Would you like me to treat you to a pastry? I'd be more than happy to." Something about her seemed different, however, and even though she did seem to be a stoic sort of person the majority of the time, the expression that had came across her face just then seem devoid of everything. There was nothing there to read, and Iacomus had to admit that he was a little confused by it all. Just how afraid of clocks was she?
Shoving her hands into her pockets, Max tore her gaze away from the store and instead looked at the streets. “You don’t have to,” was all she said. In her pockets, she felt for her knife and was relieved it was still there. She would have been upset if it had been lost while she was running so much, but then again that was unlikely to happen. At least she felt like her old self with that knife there. It was half of everything she owned after all.

Sighing in defeat, Max walked within the bakery and couldn’t help but stare at all the delicious treats. As she examined all the different snacks available, she came to one in specific she wanted to try. It was sweet dough role with blueberry jam atop it. However, she didn’t want to feel like she was making Iaco go out of his way just to get her something. “What are you getting?” she turned and asked him, assuming he was buying something too.
