Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

"Well what are those girls like? The ones that go to the bars, I mean..." Keefe asked as he wondered how a girl who went to a bar might act, "That isn't very lady-like of them to do that though... I've only known the few girls in my village, some older than me, others younger, but either way they all act about the same... They dress very nice and are very polite and listen to whatever you have to say." Keefe couldn't wrap his head around the fact that a girl would go to a bar, they had always been at home helping their mother or doing the daily chores, unless they were invited to come to a fancy party. What reason did they have for going to a bar in the first place.

Hmm. Lasair looked at the boy thoughtfully, not sure about how he wanted to answer this. Best to be direct, but not too direct. Don’t want to scare the young lad on his first time out and all. “Well girls who go to bars like to have a little more fun than girls who don’t. They’re not afraid to have some liquor and get a little drunk and have a party. The more noble girls would never be seen in a place like this, with people like these, so you gotta imagine what kind of girl wouldn’t care about the fact that she’s out here. Does that make sense?” Lasair took a swig of his drink as he finished speaking, feeling a little parched. He hoped Keefe would do the same. Maybe he’d stop worrying and relax a little then.

"Kind of..." Keefe said as he looked at his drink before taking a small sip of it, "Do they not care about being lady-like?" Keefe asked, no longer wondering about what his sister might be like but truly curious about the people of this town. "Do the men not care to stop them? Is that not their job to look out for woman?" He wondered as he looked up to the man with wide eyes full of question, after all he was still a younger boy who never really experienced the world.

“Some still care to be lady-like, but decided to take a break for one night. Others have in fact given up on it. Some never even tried. Each woman is a little different.” That last line came out with a grin, which was partly the alcohol kicking in. “Men don’t control these women. Most let themselves be controlled. The ones who do let it happen, don’t end up in a bar,” he explained with a shrug. He had heard hundreds of stories from hundreds of women, so he liked to think he had a general idea about all their situations. He could be wrong, however, he wouldn’t deny that. But for now, to this young man, he could be as right as he wanted. “Are you not liking your drink? Do you want something else? They have lots of different drinks here.”

"Oh..." Keefe said as he continued to look at the glass. "Oh. No, No!! I like the drink I was just thinking..." Keefe couldn't help but wonder, "This city is a lot bigger and different than anything I could have ever thought." Continuing to look at the glass before taking another sip of it, this one being slightly larger than the last. The burning tingling sensation was more noticeable this time and for some reason made his head begin to swim, in a way Keefe wasn't sure was good or bad. He needed to look on the bright side though, all this uncertainty wasn't doing anything for him and just seemed to be ruining his night.

Rubbing his chin for a moment, Lasair had to chose his words carefully now. The right words could lead to a happy drunk while the wrong to a sad one. “Look at is this way,” he began. “The bigger the place is, the more there is to experience. The more there is to learn about. The more there is the be inspired by. There’s so much to do and so much to love, and this city has it all. You just gotta find it.” He finished off with a small wink, hoping this would inspire Keefe and keep him on the positive side of things.

"Really?" Keefe asked, picking his head up some and looked at the man. His spirit then picked up some with those words, to think this city had all the wonder and excitement that Lasair said, you just need to find the right place. "Your, right." Keefe said as he sat up straighter, his mood now happier and much brighter than before. "Your absolutely right!! I just need to look at on the brighter side! Look at all this and see what I can make of it!" His mood was beginning to grow happier and happier with each word.

“That’s the kind of spirit I like to see! How bout we drink to it and try to enjoy everything this night has to offer?” Lasair raised his glass to the blonde, grinning. He always enjoyed seeing someone smile, and every smile he earned was one more that could turn around and face would, hopefully spreading some more cheer.

Keefe smiled as the man talked about raising a glass, "Yes! Yes, Let's!" Keefe said with a large grin, "One thing though... How do you do that?" Keefe asked, unsure of what needed to happen. He had hear his dad say that to his friend when they came over for dinner, but Keefe never actually saw what happened with it, his father always sent him off to bed or to go do something else while the 'grown-ups talked'... He always did want to join them, but his mother told him to leave them be. But now he could! And with his very own friend! He no longer needed to wish to be with his father and his friends.

“How does one enjoy the night?” Lasair repeated the question back to himself. “A normal man would answer, good drink, good music, and good women, but you’re not that kind of man.” He sipped from his drink, pondering the question further. “Good music still applies to you I’m sure, everyone loves music. But I’m not sure about the others. You hardly like that drink I got you there, I don’t know if you could handle a real one. And you’re a bit young to be enjoying women, but I won’t question it if you already are.” Lasair chuckled at his own comment. “But anyway, I guess the short answer is, you gotta have fun. Do whatever you like to do.” He grinned at Keefe, hoping his confusing answer made it through to him.

Keefe stared at the man with wide eyes. Keefe didn't know to to do with this answer for it was one he was not expecting nor really asked for, but thinking back to his question he could understand where the confusion would step in. "No. No..." Keefe began, "I didn't ask that right... Ummm..." Keefe had to take a moment before his he could ask his question, "What I meant was how does one do this?" He asked as he referred to holding his glass up, "What does someone do when they hold up their glass like this? And what does it mean when they say 'Let's raise a glass'?" Keefe asked as he lowered his drink and looked at Lasair, hoping his question made more sense.

“Oh.” Lasair started laughing, sorry he had misunderstood the question. Once he calmed his giggled he took a sip of his drink and looked at Keefe. “It’s just sort of a thing people do to celebrate something or pay something respect. They used to clink glasses together, but some of the guys would get too tipsy and smash them. You just raise your glass and then take a drink.” Lasair demonstrated for him, smiling as he did so. “And you should still enjoy the night,” he added with a wink.

"...So... Like this?" Keefe asked as he raise his glass high above his head then brought it back down to take a rather large sip of his drink. It was the largest sip he had taken of his drink so far this night and in doing so it caused him to cough a bit, the burning sensation went all the way down his throat. "Wow..." Keefe said in a very airy voice.

“See, told you it wasn’t difficult.” Lasair grinned and took another drink from his own glass. “Is there anything else you’re confused about?” He rather enjoyed spending time with this fellow. If there was any other way he could help the night stay lively, he wanted to do just that.

"Hmm..." Keefe thought before giving the man a large smile, "I'm confused about a lot of stuff." He said cheerfully, "A lot of stuff I don't think many... or rather anyone could answer. But I'll let ya know if I have anything else." Keefe couldn't help but smile now, this man really lifted his spirits, though Keefe couldn't remember the reason he was down in the first place, though that didn't mean he had to go searching for why now! Looking at his drink he took another sip before realizing he really liked it, and after taking a few more he downed his first glass in no time. "This stuff was really good! What else do they have?" Keefe asked with excitement wondering what else this place had, realizing he just asked another question he then added, "There ya go! I gave you another question!" He smiled, Keefe was having a rather well night.
