Danny narrowed his eyes at Faolin Skye. "You don' mention this ta Cait. Seems like ya figured somethin' out, an' tha' somethin's not somethin' she wants bein' spread around. You don' think she's anythin' but what she says she is. Ya let on otherwise, an' ya'll be my next sword. She'll tell ya when she's ready. If she's ready." Danny took a deep breath.
"If we're gonna catch the killer, get somebody ta watch Cait first. Keep 'er safe. Second, we're gonna need backup in case it goes sour. Ya got anybody ya can trust ta pull us outta the fire. An' I mean both'a us. I don' wanna be left 'igh an' dry fer takin' a gamble on ya Big Blue." The boy adjusted his hat before continuing. "If we're gonna make a plan work, ya might as well know wha' I can do. I'ma decent sword fighter... I gots some speed boosts an' some sky hoppin' I can do... An' I can conjure demons an' the undead. 'Ope Ya can work wit tha'." Danny fell silent to await the man's response. The biggest thought in his head was simply 'Forgive me, Caitlin.'
"I'll send a message to someone I trust to watch Cait, but I'm afraid we're going to have to rely on each other on this one. I don't think the rest of the EIRAL would be so open minded. Specially if you start pulling demons out of thin air." He wasn't even sure how he felt about all that. The last time he'd seen an Ander in action it had been at the end of a barrel. The only certainty he had, was that there wasn't anyone in the EIRAL he could trust with this. What he was about to do was against everything the membership stood for, and if it came out, he would be lucky if he wasn't busted all the way down to an enlisted rank. It didn't matter, though. It was the right thing to do, and if it got this murderer off the streets he would accept the consequences. The EIRAL was supposed to protect the citizens of Lodan, Ander or Human.
