Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

She nodded her head yes as tears began to stream quietly down her face, but he couldn't see any of this. She lifted her hands and covered her face with both palms. Caitlin inhaled a shaky breath and let it back out slowly. It seemed unfair somehow. That men could go so far with anyone they wanted, whether he was noble or not, and a woman couldn't steal a kiss from a handsome stranger without feeling she'd ruined herself somehow. It completely dissolved her. "Well... that's one way to look at it," She chirped after a moments silence. "We only have three ships in the sky. There are a few smaller craft but they dont require much manning and don't go very far without docking again." She forced herself to focus on the logistics or else face a more shameful meltdown. "Your choices are Rolands, or Dadra, either captain would be lucky to have you." Her voice faded out to a whisper. She didn't name the third ships captain, though she was sure it wouldn't be long till he figured it out.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
Levi pretends to not notice anything changed, but as if she acted normal. Poking farther would do no good, and if one thing was true is that she had a sense of pride. "I'm assuming they captain the smallest ships? Put me on the the bird that flies the most. You can't learn what to do standing still." His boots mash with the metal in light thumps as he walks back and forth on the track, keeping balance as he paces. "I did say I'd protect you, and what's the best way then watching from the sky?" He stops his little rail-dance and lets the silence sit in.

She feels a slight bubbly hysteria creeping up her sternum. But it comes out as a dry chuckle. "Ooh Levi, I would love to accommodate that noble wish of yours," she blinked tears out of her eyes and pushed off the wall, determined to stand on her own two feet and be strong. "But I know for a fact that Captain would not have you on her ship. No matter how convenient it would be for you to watch over me from there."

"Oh, and why is that? You walked into me like I was holding a sign that said free tea." The sound of dirt shuffling and Caitlin moving made him react, and hop off the rail, though its dark and lighting the area again seems like a death wish..He stumbles around a bit, looking for the girl in the dark. "What's the worse that could happen? Besides me falling off the side of the ship..eh.."

He must have thought she was trying to leave, and she should have been, but instead she was standing their dumbly. He bumped into her for what could have been the hundredth time today. Caitlin stepped hastily away "hah, who's walking into who like they're holding a sign for free tee?" She teased him. There was the slightest bit of humor back in her voice, though it was still weak. "Listen, Levi..." she might as well just tell him. Then there it was - the light at the end of the tunnel, she picked up her pace and hurried toward it like a life line. "You can't be on the IRONDREAD Because it's my ship. I'm not a sea captain - I'm a sky captain."

Levi pushed her shoulder playfully as she joked about him running into her, mumbling a "Uhuh, okay." as she said so, and when the light came around he made to follow Caitlin in hot pursuit. "Doesn't mean I can't, just means you can't breakdown in front of your crew." He said, with a teasing tone. "Besides, if you haven't guessed, I like water as much as an actual cat. I probably would've taken a beating on the ship rather than jump in the water."

"I was a cat once," she mumbled, to herself mostly, remembering the fateful night before the civil war broke out. She had been at a masquerade, dressed as Dina the cat from Alice in Wonderland. She had her heartbroken for the first time and it was at that party. The next day it only got worse as she discovered the person she wanted was the part of CAEsAL, and at that point in time it meant her enemy. She shook it off. Unpleasant thoughts and they were drudged up from so deep in her memory that they were faded black and white images compared to the life she led now.
She kept marching forward with long strides till they made it out of the tunnel. Quickly she worked her way around the privacy fence and back to the public side of the property. Only then did she stop marching and turn to face him. Her hair was a tangled mess, it wrapped around her neck and arms in wisps. She would have braided it except she hadn't brought a hair tie with her.
"Levi listen... It's not you, its me." Oh God she could have groaned at how cheesy that sounded but she pressed on. "I have no doubt you can handle being up there in the air, but as of right now, I can't handle being near you at all. Just.... - Just give me some time, ok?...." She lifted her hands to her sides and dropped them weakly in a gesture of surrender. "Just give me time to get you out of my head. Then we can be comrades or whatever you think we can be... ying and yang or however you put it."

Levi follows Caitlin out of the tunnel like a mother and her duckling before she turned to him, offered her words, and surrendered with a simply hand motion.
Levi grinned. He grinned that dung-eating grins whenever he wins a game of ANYTHING. He likes it, what he is hearing, he loves it!
"If that's how you wanna say it. Typical though, isn't it? I'm glad I left such an impression on you sweetie, because you'll never get me out of your head. Every time you look at the water, you'll see my hand in the reflection of the waves coming for you. Oh, and keep my side of the bed warm." He makes a gun with his finger and points it at Caity, making the "klick-klick" sound with his tongue before turning around and walking towards the town, the long way.
With his back towards Caitlin and breaths a sigh of relief.

And of course just by saying that, she immediately remembered seeing him underwater, the vision of his hand wrapped around her wrist, tugging her up to the surface before she drowned. Caitlin frowned. He looked awfully pleased with himself didn't he? It left a strange hole in her chest but she knew it was the right move to make. Spending time away from an influence like him would do her a world of good. She had two lives to lead right now, as the Barons daughter in mourning, and as the queen of rogues, and she didn't need any more distractions...
