Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap

Addison allowed for the two to exchange words before he himself was once again addressed. "Oh, no, sir. You are mistaken, this lad here is an acquaintance of mine. As for my watch I may attend but I won't be the one you hand it to," he explained before lifting the watch to present to Gabriel. The thing was worn and old looking and the signet of his father's crest was nearly all but marred yet still able to scarcely be made out. "I do not wish for the outer appearance to be fixed, only the interior. Whatever you must change within is of no concern to me but do be gentle." There he stood with his gloved hand outstretched, the delicate thing extended out waiting to be taken by the other man while Addison leaned on his cane.

Stephen mulled over the words. Watches were not his interest so it really did not matter to him "Just make it extravagant. If it is not to his liking then he surely will come back and tell you that. If it is, you will probably have a loyal customer. As for the inscription.... ['Do not lose this' -Stephen] will suffice." That ought to make that big baboon of a father of his laugh. It was some what boring to be in this store, especially with the over polite owner. People like that always seemed to be secretly judging their customers. It was truly annoying to him.

Gabriel took the watch from the young man and walked to his counter, where he removed a box and nestled the broken time piece inside. After clsoing the lid with the box Gabriel nodded at the green clad man. "Are you sure you do not wish the whole watch restored? I will make sure the mechanisms are repaired but it seems a shame to neglect the casing. If you do not wish to pick up the item, I have a delivery lad who can see that it gets to you."
As he spoke Gabriel retrieved a piece of paper from behind the counter and began writing upon it. After completing the notes he looked to the now named Stephen. "Very well, I will do my utmost to make sure it is a grand sight," Gabriel said, slightly amused by the asked for inscription, "I do hope he will be pleased with the final product. Will you be picking up your order or would you prefer to have it delivered?"

"Oh no, I will be here to pick it up but I will not be the one you hand it to," he clarified as he studied the man while he put away the broken time piece. "See, if I touch it, all of your work would be for naught and I would hate to waste good money only for it to be destroyed the mere moment it fell into my hands. As for your bookkeeping or records, the name you can put that under is for a Sir Halloway."

"Yes, yes, I am sure you will. I will pick up the parcel myself." He did not want the watch in the hands of a delivery boy he did not know the name of "Who is this delivery boy of yours again?" he asked, just curious to know once Addison finished talking to the watch store keeper.

Gabriel nodded his head politely, "Of course, Mr. Halloway, I understand. I will have it ready when your friend comes to pick up his order"
"Just a local lad, Mr Leland," Gabriel said, addressing his other customer, "He runs a delivery service and makes himself available to the shop most days. As for your order, I should have everything I need now, and since I do not have much on the bench at the moment, I should be able to finish your piece in around a week. I will of course send word if it is done more or less quickly."

"Very good. Then I do not think I will keep you any longer. Stephen, sir," he bowed his head to the two men then turned on his heels to exit the shop. "I'll be back tomorrow," he called over his shoulder, the cane tapping on the floor as he went.
Stephen nodded to Addison as he excited then turned back to the shop owner for one last word "I suppose I will be seeing you again then. Good day." With that he turned and walked out of the store.

Right... now was as good a time as any. That redhead had another delivery for him anyways... Danny walked into the watch shop and made a beeline for the workshop like he owned the place. Danny stepped inside and out of sight of any customer's prowling the store and made his announcement. "Mista' Sinne', Got tha' pewter fer them casin's ya wanted. An' yer lady admirer's sent another goody." Danny fished out his receipts and his logbook, indicating the usual places to sign. Whike that was being taken care of, he removed a rather heavy box from his satchel and placed it on a countertop. The boy did a quick stretch before he dove into one of his coat pockets and removed a brown wax paper wrapped parcel. He set the gift down right next to the pewter delivery.

Gabriel looked up from the paperwork he was filling out when he heard Danny's voice. Seeing the messenger fishing around for his packages the shop owner rose and went over to sign the required receipts. "Good day, Danny. Another gift from the red head? I don't suppose you'll tell me who she is today? No, of course you won't. Listen lad, I'd like you to come over tomorrow. Delivering my parts has been a great help but I want to see if I can pack the finished products well enough for you to not damage them."

"Ya ask every time Miste' Sinne', an' I tell ya I can't every time." Danny let out a small laugh as he went about his work. "Yeh, sure sure. I'll be by 'round noon t'morrow!" Danny pocketed all of his logbooks and receipts then made his departure from the shop. Tomorrow he was going to handle actual watches... oh boy... He scrambled his way up one of the buildings then vaulted onto the roof before going about the rest of his business for the day.
Danny returned the next day a little after noon with two cloth wrapped parcels. He went straight back to Gabriel's workshop and set the packages down. "Miste' Sinne'! I'm 'ere! An' I brought some lunch if ya 'aven' eaten." Danny opened up the two packages and took the lids off the boxes. Inside each box was a simple ham and cheese sandwich and some little potato croquettes. The boy picked up one of the sandwiches and began munching away, his scarf removed and his jacket opened so he wouldn't spill anything on either of them.

"Good afternoon, Danny," Gabriel said, coming to sit near Danny, " I haven't eaten yet actually, thank you.
Gabriel took up the second box Danny brought in and began to eat his sandwich, it was plain fare, but made more enjoyable by the company. It had been a while since Gabriel had shared a meal with anyone. After finishing half his sandwich and a few croquettes Gabriel set the meal down so he could speak. "I thought to try out some packaging today to see what might be found to insulate my clockworks from magical harm. I'm confident that some of the sturdier materials will hold up well, but not every order is going to necessitate the expense of a lacquered box. I have a few packages on the bench over there I'd like to start with."
Gabriel motioned over to a side bench that had an arrangement of packages. Of the 5 parcels that sat there, one looked to be a simple envelope of paper, another a linen bag, a third yet was paper again, but this time bulkier. The remaining two packages seemed to be identical rough hewn boxes. "After lunch I thought we might try having you carry and handle them. After a little jaunt through the city we can see how each piece fares. Do you think you'd be up to the task?"
After explaining the current project to the young lad Gabriel picked up his box and began to finish his lunch, with business out of the way, he gave in to his curiosity and looked at Danny a little more fully. Gabriel could not ever remember seeing the lad without his scarf pulled up nearly to his eyes. Gabriel had always wondered what the boy had looked like under. Though he did not like secrets he had learned to live with them, but it was nice to put a real face to the lad.

Dannyany grinned at his employer. "Ain' no problem. Figured it'd be rude fer me ta eat when ya ain' eaten." He polished off his sandwich with surprising speed and licked the crumbs off his fingers. "Righ' righ'." Danny stood up and stretched his arms above his head and advanced on the packages. "'Ow long ya want me carryin' em an' how far d'ya want me ta go?" Danny walked over to the packages and peered at them curiously. "The paper an' cloth ain' gonna work. Jus' prior experience. The boxes migh'. An' apparently magnets work well ffor making' stuff not break around us. Leland the Younger's been doin' research innit." Danny scratched his nose as he surveyed his packages.

Gabriel nodded at the young ander, finishing off his sandwich. "I thought that might be the case, though it is not just about whether they are damaged or not, but how damaged, and in what way that I am interested ins seeing with the lighter packaging." Gabriel said, getting up to walk over to the packages, "as far as distance is concerned, they don't need to be all over the city, but they should go through at least similar time and jostling as they would receive on a normal run."
Gabriel pondered the messengers words about magnets. "Leleand, I had a man named Leland in here not long ago. He had two colored eyes, and was somewhat rude. I wonder if it is the same man. I didn't take him for the science type."

"First name Stephen? Son'a Charlie Leland? Kinda scrawny lookin' an' a whole lotta pretentious? Tha's the guy." Danny nodded as he spoke then picked up the first paper package. "A'right, ya wan' me ta stop in so we can review each run after a trip? Or do ya wan' me ta jus' do all five runs then check em. I could even carry all five'a em at once ta save the trouble. They'd get the same jostlin' an' carry time that way." Danny pulled his jacket closed and rewrapped his scarf around his face. The boy stretched his arms above his head then bent down and touched his toes. He turned to Gabriel to wait for his reply.
