Prepare for the #LodanRespawn2024 Existing characters may choose to be displace from/have memories of different timelines, thereby allowing returning members the option to retcon their whole character. These changes are the result of the "Unnatural Fog" plot device that is running between now and the Respawn. The plot is simple: no matter where your character is, that place is shrouded in a thick fog that suspends time, but not thoughts or memories, so even if they're repeating the same day over and over again, they continue to remember, so each time feels like a new day. For those retconning OCs; this is where new versions of themselves have the opportunity to replace the old versions. Official lore and tree updates will be announced asap
a few minutes Back when Ikuze used Hypnosis on her, being a Ca a'llan it had is effect of 1st a small magic slap which knocked her to the side a bit and then an side effect that changes there mood randomly due to a Hypnosis effect, meaning Rava was out of it. now Blushing with love sickness at everything and being quite before being lifted by the necks of the clothes and dragged to a room with 2 more people in it.
at this point Rava had become a ticking time bomb with 10 minutes before she return to normal again and start to "get to work" on everyone in the room could get head cut off if they recognize a former Queen bandit. (oh Ikuze, why did you stop Rava , well i set up her so in her next post she may wake up incase they need a full on Escape , also if recognized Rava will Wake due to her own will power of not wanting the chop)
The thief started thinking of every possible way of getting out of this situation. Burst out the windows, or make for the door and run, hell, she even considered trying to hold someone hostage and bluff. Her guitar she doubted she'd get a chance to use it in conjunction with her Hypnosis to get the room to forget they were here... and she very much doubted that the Baron would buy the excuse that she gave the butler, or even the notion that she was really just sneaking in here for a gig. Whatever Caitlin's doing, gotta stall for time... well, this should definitely stall... Ikuze thought to herself before she took in a breath.
"Your daughter sent us milord." she said, keeping her tone as respectful as she could from what lessons she remembered with the Baroness. "When she saw the posters... she was worried that something had happened to you. Thought you were being pressured or something... Said this wasn't your usual... mind-set sir if you'll pardon my words. She didn't come herself in case such a thing were true... We're really sorry milord, we didn't mean to cause any real trouble or distress." said Ikuze, quickly going into a curtsey, and hoping to high heaven and low hell that Rava played along.
And that the Baron didn't let the Commander draw that sword cus if that blade popped out of the sheath....

Danny looked at the entrants to the room and took a quick sip of his tea. He looked first at Ikuze, then at Rava, then at the Commander. He took another sip from his teacup. "Yer big boss is here, ain't they?" Danny took another sip of the tea. Throughout his tea sipping, his expression didn't change. Why would Caitlin be here? "Uhh... yer Baronosity, jus' a question. Who's yer girly?" Danny set down his teacup and picked up a biscuit to nibble on. "This's good... wha's innit?" Danny turned the biscuit this way and that in the light. "Hey, Commander Boss Guy, ya should try one'a these." Danny finished his first biscuit and started in on number two.
"My Daughter?!" The Baron strode forward so fast to reach Ikuze it was uncharacteristic of him. "Where is she, when did you last see her?" It was obvious he was straining not to snatch the girl up by her shoulders and shake her for information.
Danny's curiosity spilled into the conversation as he questioned both the young ladies and the Baron. He blinked a bit befuddled, then turned to face the boy.
"My daughter is Caitlin, Baroness of Cockfoster, didn't you know who you were brought here to impersonate?" He shook his head at the sloppy attempt at a scam that fellow from the slums had tried to pull off. Then the rest of what Danny had said before, about the young ladies boss being here doubled back and smacked him between the eyes. He looked at the Commander at the same time Danny did, calmly recommending the refreshments to the military man. Judd, putting the pieces together turned and ran back into the house to search for a third accomplice to the duo he discovered in the hall.
"Danny, son, what do you mean is their 'big boss here'?" He marched to the door, but paused for an answer - he didn't care who gave it just as long as they were quick. He couldn't afford for anyone to be sneaking about, finding things they don't want to be found. Especially if they were wondering around upstairs in the dark.

"Oh, the big boss? Tha's a girly named Caitie. Didn' ever learn 'er last name. Found 'er in the woods a while back at night and ended up savin' 'er an' Spitfire over there from becomin' some tasty treats." Danny looked around. "Say, Big Man Baron, ya wouldn't 'appen ta have any jam around, would'ja?" Danny popped another biscuit in his mouth, chomped it quickly, then swallowed. "Anyways, Blue an' Spitfire both work for Caitie. 'course, she prolly ain' the Caitlin yer talkin' abou'. She's as dumb as a bag'a rocks, what with wanderin' the woods at night. Scary loon..." He looked around and took a sip of tea. "An' why would yer daughter run away?"
Ikuze flinched at the speed to which the Baron approached her, her entire body preparing to run if his intention had been to strike her or something... instead all he did was question her. Before she could answer, Danny interrupted and started blabbing. The thief immediately scowled at the girl masquerading as a boy. She had to get this situation back under control before Caitlin got into trouble, had to stall for time. Especially since the butler had decided to go look for more. Crap. Sorry Baroness... oh this is gonna get me into sooo much trouble. She looked at Judd and laced with her Hypnosis as strong as she could, "Stay!" Hoping that was enough she immediately turned her attentions to the Baron and the Commander knowing full well that the Commander had a bit of a grudge against magical types.
"I'm sorry milord for that, but please understand that she can't be disturbed. Last thing I think any of us wants is people tearing your house apart looking for her." she said quickly, deciding that the damage had been done already with Danny's words. "Yes, we work for your daughter. And no before the Commander or yourself have the thought cross your minds, we are not here to rob, steal or pillage anything of your valuables. She was worried that you were acting under the orders of some other force, given the posters around town. So, we came here to investigate what was going on. Myself and Rava in one search group, herself in the other." said the half-blood thief, her fingers resting on the guitar's neck, ready to let fly with her last Hypnosis if anyone tried to leave the room.
She chuckled a little. "Funny really... if wasn't for your daughter milord, I wouldn't know what I was, or how I do stuff." Ikuze said, before deciding to make sure that nobody doubted Caitlin's origins as she guessed was the reason for the no-stealing rule for daddy. "For a full-human, she knows a lot about this magic stuff. Guess it pays to know when thats who works for you. Your girl's a remarkable woman sir. I hope you know that milord. Patience like a stone too... Trying to teach me history and that elecution stuff when she finds the time... First time a human took a genuine interest in a freak like me without wanting something in return. I hope that she does you proud milord, even if the path she walks isn't the one you picked out." said the thief before blinking at her words and shaking her head a little. "Seriously, where the heck is this coming from? Guess the lessons are sticking." she said with a nervous chuckle, knowing that her life was quite probably in the balance right now and dependent on the Barons, and Commanders, good graces.
"So, by your account, you are all thieves and Caitlin is your boss, which makes her...Baron, where is your wife's room, quickly." Faolan said, his hand firmly on the hilt of his sword now. If things were as he suspected them, the head of the Brotherhood was here in this house and she was the Barron's daughter. He glared at the man. He was not pleased. Even with the man's position, he was complicit with a list of criminal activities.
"She's...upstairs." he said, hesitant at first to say anything, but realizing that the cat was now out of the bag. He was just glad the blue haired Ander hadn't revealed the truth about his daughter's heritage.
Skye simply nodded and pushed through the gaggle of girls, and boy disguised as a girl, heading for the staircase. He wasn't calling in backup just yet, but if anyone tried to stop him, he'd have this place swarming with his troops. The Barron must have thought the same thing, because as soon as Skye was out the door of the study, he blocked the way for anyone to follow. "Please, don't hurt her." he shouted after the Commander.
The Commander heard, but didn't respond. In all likelihood, there was an equal chance that Caitlin would be the one to harm him. As he reached the staircase he passed the butler, Judd. "You, stay here and make sure no one follows." he ordered. The man seemed to hesitate as well, not used to anyone but the Baron giving him orders. He looked towards the study and the Barron blocking the door, and nodded.
Skye didn't wait for a response, he ran up the stairs, taking them two at a time until he was on the floor above. He could see the door ahead of him and approached cautiously. He didn't know what was waiting for him as he pushed the door open slowly, drew his sword, and stepped into the dimly lit room where Caitlin was holding a lantern over the form of her mother. It almost made him drop his sword, but he pushed through the emotion. "Baroness, it saddens me to have to do this, but you are under arrest."
So many emotions struck him in quick succession like a volley of gun shots. First, the implication that a handful of thieves were being led by his daughter. Imagine, the Baroness parading as the Queen of Rogues, well he never!
Then the little blue haired abomination told him his daughter was human, and it was like an angel chorus to his ears. Imagine, his wifes child, not having a drop of her fithly blood in her veins. His hope for their future sprung up like a beanstalk.
However when the Commander jumped into action it terrified the Baron. He stuttered out an answer to the easier question, but couldn't find words to save her from his wrath. All he could think was his daughter couldn't be the Queen of Rogues, she simply couldn't. She already had a title, a respectable one, and... "Please don't hurt her," he shouted.
Judd met his eyes on the bottom stair step and he gave a grim frown. The man came to his aid and he turned on the young visitors who had outstayed their welcome.
"Danny, I apologize for cutting your time in half, but Judd will escort you home now. As for you two..." He turned on the young ladies, distaste spilling off him in waves. "I will personally see you to the gate, and you shall NOT enter my property again if you have any love of my daughter at all. If anything... anything happens to her I hold you responsible." It didn't matter that the threat was the military man upstairs, what mattered were these two who had spoiled his efforts to protect Caitlin the only way he knew how.

Caitlin's eyes were so watery that they blurred the image of her mother till she was a wash of dull shapes. It made it easier to believe this was nothing more than a nightmare. The lantern shook in her hands and in her mind she kept screaming for action, screaming to set the thing aside and grab her mothers hand, to heal her, but it was pointless. Even her new training in healing was only useful in healing herself and only of minor wounds. She couldn't bring someone back from death. And that is what she would need to do if she was going to save her mother.
Did her father not care at all? Why wasn't he at her bedside holding on till the last moment when she passed? Why was she left alone in a cold dark room to slip from this world in lonely silence? Her agony ate at her insides and her knees trembled. She wanted to throw herself across the bed and cling to her mom, but both fear of setting the bed on fire, and the fear of feeling her mother prone and stiff kept her feet frozen in place.
The door eased open and she assumed only that it was Maria again, though why she would come back made little sense, unless her mother had only just expired in the few moments before Caitlin herself had come into the room. "Did you inform my father? Does he even know?" Caitlin's voice croaked with pain, believing she was talking to the maid.
"Baroness, it saddens me to have to do this, but you are under arrest." Her head snapped up toward the man, her eyes red and puffy, and her chin trembled though she fought to get it under control. Anger and injustice coursed through her. How dare he? A man parading in uniform, here to take advantage of her family? Hovering over the barons estate and baiting her with her own parents to come out of hiding. She felt her power swelling under the surface and surging forward in her chest.
Under arrest is she? Under what charges? If he didn't remember, then he didn't have a case to hold against her. She lowered her hand with the lantern and angled her body toward his ever so slowly. She locked eyes with him, never blinking and her words, when she spoke were said slowly as well, deliberately infusing as much suggestive hypnosis as she could muster.
"Don't accuse me of doing anything wrong, whatever you think I did forget about it." After that she held her breath and waited, wondering if it would be strong enough, or if she would have to try again. That was her third spell, she could only do so much more.
She sat her glass down next to the decanter and leaned back. This was nice... like falling into a vat of marshmallow fluff. Calm, muffled, the rest of the world blocked out by the closed door to his cabin, and here they were safe inside. Safe from reality, safe from their own complicated lives. Safe from duty. Safe from context. Just. Safe. --Caitlin
Skye blinked and lowered his sword suddenly, he'd been looking for an intruder, but upon seeing that the intruder was Caitlin and upon seeing the anguish on her face he felt completely embarrassed. He slid the sword quickly into his hilt and lowered his head. "I'm so sorry Baroness. I feared one of the bounty hunters had broken in. I did not expect to find you here. Your father asked me to look for you, to tell you about your mother's condition. I did not realize it was so dire. You must be...I'm so sorry you had to find out this way."
Faolan had been trained to resist Ander hypnosis during the war, with a recent refresher due to his position, but there were still conditions where that training meant absolutely nothing. Such conditions as wanting to believe the suggestion that was being put forward. When he had realized who Caitlin was, it had been like a kick in the gut, and not because she was under his nose the whole time, but because of the situation. Without realizing it, he had been hoping to find her again, and not simply because her mother was ill. So now, when given the option to forget what he knew, he took it whole heartedly.
"I'll...I'll leave you to your grief and let your father know that you are safe. If you need to talk, or anything..." he let the rest trail off. He'd just pulled a sword on her as she was grieving over her mother. She didn't want to talk to him. She probably didn't want to talk to anyone. He'd really put his foot in it this time. He turned to leave.
Rava awoke from her trans as she buckled to the ground and started to puke some blood as she woke up "oh...god ... how long wha.. " she looked up slowly to see she was in the presents a man in a top hat and Ikzue , this was bad " ohhhh ....Ikzue.. you didnt.. did you... " she said as she could not hold her self and puked a bit more red blood up as she shook on the ground
The thief looked to the bandit girl and gave a nervous chuckle. "Sorry, but you were going all crazy attack lady back there..." she apologised before regarding the Baron himself. "I'm sorry milord for tonight's events. It was not our intent to cause any distress, merely discover answers to questions." said Ikuze with another curtsey, ignoring the distaste she could practically taste coming off of him. No wonder she ran if this is how he acts around Anders... well, better fix this in case Caitlin ever wants to visit high society again. Can't have him causing a scene. The thief slowly pulled her guitar into a playing position. "As recompense milord, would you care for some soothing music? I wrote this myself. It tends to calm down the pub-goers if tempers flare a bit high quite quickly." asked Ikuze, before she began to play, regardless of the Baron's answer. As she played, she laced her music with her last Hypnosis spell, to try and make all the men in the room forget what they looked like. Ikuze found herself sweating towards the end of her piece, her body exhausted after having used up all her magic for the day.

"You knew?" Her heart fell into the pit of her stomach and her knees threatened to drop her on the ground. She reached her free hand for the bedpost and squeezed it for support. "Commander... Did you know- that day that I met you?" How long had her mother been ill? How long had she been running from people who knew and could have told her at any passing chance. She thought of her fathers men chasing her in the bar. She thought of climbing the side of buildings just to escape to the roofs and avoid being found. There were too many times she'd taken the cowards route and run away when she should have stood her ground and learned the truth. It was nieve of her to think all this time her father was wasting so much time and resources on bringing her home just to have another father-daughter chat about title and inheritance.
Her eyes leaked tears, she couldn't keep them in anymore, they were blocking her ability to see clearly. The liquid seeped rivets down her face but she did not utter a cry. Instead she pressed her lips tightly together till they paled and waited for an answer. She didn't know if it would make a difference either way, and realizing this, she would have to let him leave instead of dragging out the uncomfortable situation any further.
"Blasted!" The Baron shouted when Rava proceeded to vomit all over his fancy rugs. "MARIA!!!" He screamed for the maid. Ikuze started talking, shifting her guitar and making quick work of explaining what she was about to play. He didn't trust her and was shaking his head no. "Not interested, now if you would both please just - leave - at-" once... he didn't get to the last word though, as he head grew foggy and his eyes unfocused, staring at the wall past Ikuze shoulder.
"Commander... Did you know- that day that I met you?" Cait asked, causing him to stop and turn. He saw her start to cry and took a step back towards her, wanting to comfort her in her moment of need, but thought better of it. He'd just pulled a sword on her, why would she want or accept any comfort from him?
"No, I didn't. It wasn't until I saw the wanted posters and confronted your father about them that I found out, and I've been looking to find you since then. You have my condolences. I know what it's like to loose someone very close to you." his own eyes spoke of sadness and loss as he turned again and walked out of the room for good, heading back towards the Baron's study. He'd have to let the man know that his daughter was safe and tell him what happened. He was sure he wasn't going to get any points for almost assaulting the Baron's only daughter.
