Faolan Skye and his esteemed Redeemer crew.
Caitlin yawned soundlessly as she stretched, a warmth shrouding her as she left the safety of the bed. A diffused glow permeated the many windows on both sides of the private cabin, almost blinding in its monotony as the curiously unbroken cloud they'd flown into some weeks ago continued to surround them. Even curiouser was the fact that their fuel had ceased to deplete since then. Energy reserves too. This miracle of science they flew in had become truly self sustaining all of a sudden for no apparent reason whatsoever. Being one of very few Anders aboard gave her comfort that it wasn't their aura's that had broken the ship. At least not this time. No, this was something else entirely.
If they had contact with the surface world, they'd know they were not alone as far as this timeless fog was concerned. But that was a revelation for later. Right now Cait was curious where the captain of the ship had wandered off to. She turned back to the bed to tidy it, fluffing pillows and tucking in the sheets and blankets. Memories bubbled up to the surface as she smoothed out the striped pattern of the comforter. Flashes of the fabric clutched between fingers, then glimpses of legs tangled up in the sheets. A warmth started at the crown of her head and flowed downwards to the pit of her stomach where it set butterflies loose. Had she ever felt happier in her whole life?
She didn't think so. She exhaled a large contented sigh, audible this time, and her lips settled into a comfortable smile. Looking back was painful, knowing there was ever a time she had been unsure, that's why she didn't linger on thoughts of the past anymore. Instead she focused on the most sure thing she'd ever had in her life, and waited for that very man to return to the cabin. Perhaps there was a breakthrough on their hereto unexplained limbo in the clouds and he was with the crew to discuss it now.
